One of my ATF Nat King Cole tunes

This is a very rare song Nat did Live on his TV Show only once I believe, 'Here's that Rainy Day'. He never put it on any of his dozens of Hit albums. Nat did this song during some tumultuous racial problems he faced when he moved into and all-white neighborhood in LA. He was victim to several racial hate crimes there. One time he and his family had a KKK 'cross burning' staged on their front lawn by some bigots who tried to drive them out of their new home. Not sure if the perps were ever caught but this hate crime was widely reported back them. A short time later Nat fittingly, sang this arrangement of 'Here's that Rainy Day' on his TV Show.

The audio is pretty good. I had been searching for this arrangement by Nat for over 10 years ALL OVER. It's amazing UTube was the place it was found after all that time.

BTW overall it's a good NKC medley.

Chill tracks from way back ...

Back in the 80's, they called it Ambient Music ( thanks to Brain Eno ), New Age , or simply Electronic Music. The word " Eletronica " hasn't even been invented yet ...

Some personal fav's :

Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence - Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本龍一)
I remember the soundtrack album came out months before the movie itself and watching the flick in Montreal 1983, fall. To be honest, the soundtrack was more enjoyable than the flick, even with David Bowie and Sakamoto in it.

Suzanne Ciani, one of the most famous US electronic musician/composer/producer back in those days, only superceded Wendy Carlos ( if I can't call him Walter anymore ... )

From her first album The Velocity of Love , here are 3 tracks:

The Eighth Wave - Suzanne Ciani

No video at this Vietnamese link. Audio quality very good though.

Malibuzios - Suzanne Ciani ( This is my all time fav Ciani track and from that album as well )

The Velocity of Love - Suzanne Ciani ( another beautiful piece, piano and synths ... )

Crystal Voice (Firestarter OST) - Tangerine Dream ( Firestarter, the flick with that ET kid Drew Barrymore )

Sun Gate - Tangerine Dream ( my fav track from their CD Optical Race, which I still have ) A very emotional track, has GTR solo , not kidding .

From his live double album back in the early 80's ( 1981 or 82 ) , this is Souvenir of China by Jean Michel Jarre. Not as popular as his earlier works but this is my all time fav JMJ track . A bit melancholic though, mind you.
