Wonder if Nose Abs lover will look at this as an indicator of how well they are doing.

Said it many times here....unlike the the Maple Laffs other teams cannot afford continued crap on the ice. A few years back, pre-Martin, the Habs were crap and fans stopped buying tickets. Habs responded with some success in playoffs and fans bought tickets again. Same thing happened in Ottawa where I know a bunch of guys who can only afford 6 game packs and they are not going to spend that money for shit on the ice.

That will never happen in Toronto where dopey fans still continue to buy Domi sweaters and baseball caps. The caps must be a tad tight so as to restrict the flow of oxygen to their brains. They deserve to get the same Laffs shit served to them forever.

It is traditional in Montreal and non Francophone would be temporary. The fans would never accept it on the long run.

It's when you start losing a few in row. Every one lost with a non-francophone coach means 10 losses in Quebec.

shows what a completetly classless organization montreal is to treat a classy coach this way
Why are they classless? Coaches get fired all the time in all sports, if you don't produce you are worthless. The francophone business is true as far as tradition but it's more the team caterIng to the French media over the fans and it really needs to end. Jaques is a proven failure as a playoff coach and Kirk Muller was the fuel behind those playoff teams.

I agree with Damien Cox, Pierre Gauthier should be the one to get canned. Only Francophones need apply? Then the Canadiens must not be interested in winning the Stanley Cup - most of their silverware was won under Non-Francophones (Toe Blake, Scotty Bowman). And their greatest GM wasn't French - Sam Pollock.

How do you convince the French-Canadians that these are true facts?:argue: Bob Gainey should have never been fired. But, of course, he is not francophone.

Bob Gainey should have stayed the GM?

He was the guy that put this team into the long term mess with his silly spending in the summer of 2009 - Gomez, Camalleri, Gionta.

Gainey's resume: 241-176-46-7 record and .569 winning percentage
