This guy is lost. Negotiations have been botched and Trump is going to undress him most likely.

What surprises me the most is all the "allies" he was suppose to make deals with have secured deals with the States.

You really don't understand the magnitude of the job do you? The best PM will look for perspectives from anyone who he feels may have knowledge to share. FYI Carney also advised PM Harper. Both I believe want what is best for Canada. In case you didn't realize it, we are at a cross roads. We have a choice of a all out trade war or take a not so great deal and hope for a better President in 3 years while our economy erodes. Personally I think we need to be clear with the USA that they are also at a crossroads and outline the consequences to them.

I'm not really politics wise, and its the worst subject to discuss but, I dont get it. these guys all know each other, friends some. Parties aside. We all know Carney was not a politician, I'd be asking every Tom Dick and Harry what their opinion is.. I see no harm. Weak? out of his league? or smart.....

he portrayed himself as far superior to the conservatives when dealing with Trump- you know '"elbows up"

now that it has turned to shit, he asks for advise from a conservatives

the liberal party of Canada is corrupt and has not been honest with Canadians since at least 2014
they brought in a smooth talking con man to replace a photo op ready con man

I have no issue with the PM asking for advice. No doubt Mulroney reached out to Trudeau 1. Chretien to Mulrony, Harper to Chretien. It's common.

Cripes the last bill in parliament was a bipartisan effort. Thats the way it's supposed to be. This isn't a team sport, it's governance.

That's probably why Trump is about to steamroll Carney. One guy is playing a game, the other guy is dead serious.

Yes being a good PM is an incredible challenge and requires a special combination of leadership and charisma, that very few people have. Just because he was not a good PM does not mean he is a bad or incapable person, just that he came up short in one of the greatest challenges a person can face.

But if he was covering for the liberals as not to embarrass them, and they just asked for advice say 2 weeks ago, then yeah Carney and his minions are in over their heads. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

Its possible they wanted to know if there were any people they were not talking to, who they should be talking to.

You would want good people giving advice. It's the reason why we are not seeking Trudeau's opinion.
