You are spewing a lotta shit you do not know about. Most countries have enormous influence over their banks. In fact the REGULATE them. Most banks that have large holdings of UST have sophisticated trading operations that know how to use their holdings to have an impact on the market. For example they can ask these banks to short UST. The govt can offer its own UST holdings to backstop these shorts,. Look at how Soros took down the pound. The USD is definitely a much larger entity, but the massive debt also makes it vulnerable.

He is going to stick to the norms of negotiations between nations. The shortest a trade has been negotiated is 18 months. So it's likely the USMCA framework is going to be the basis.

Carney is going to send in the real negotiators, go line by line, with regular pauses for approvals, and really just wait out Trump as the economy gets worse and worse. He will need declared wins and so a few concessions back and forth will occur, he will decare victory, and it will probably take a year.

Unless Trump has gone truly off the deep end. Then who the fuck knows.

And there is quite simply nothing that can be done about that. Except wait for Trump to drop the Tariffs. He has repeatedly stated nothing will drop them. So any sort of call that Carney isn't capitulating is just wrong.

There will also be a very long line of US businesses as well. And other nations too. Trump is literally trying to tank the world economy. So be it. It either gets resolved, or in the long run businesses adjust to the new reality.
