OK Guys was there ANY NFL game today as exciting as the Grey Cup game??????? I know there are guys who HATE the CFL but it was a GREAT game from a fans point of view.

I have to chuckle when the TV people were saying that 1 in 3 Canadians will be watching the game. The viewership has declined over the years. I would say because more and more immigrants to Canada don't WATCH football!!!!!!
hence the 1 in 3 ratio!!!!!

On my block alone I can count out of 15 houses 3 would watch the game.
My block is the UN Italian,Greek,Polish,Scottish Serb.to name a few.

They played for a Grey Cup? You mean CFL isn't really soccer? LOL

Did you see Vince Young throw the winning TD with no time left? David Akers game winning kick? Etc, etc .....

Too bad I didn't get to see all those NFL rejects playing .... not only are they not good enough to play in the NFL, they can't count! That's payback for Sask stealing another team's name!

About 4 million canadians did not get even get the chance to watch the Grey Cup because CTV choose to air the game on TSN and not CTV the channel which is available to everybody.

Saw the highlights of the Grey Cup and the game looked exciting. The CFL is a great league with great athletes, but you simply cant compare the two leagues in terms of athleticism and strength. The players are bigger and better in the NFL otherwise those players in the CFL would be playing for more money in the NFL.

What you say has a certain logic to it. However, does a bigger and more athletic player necessarily mean it is a more entertaining game? If a slotback in the NFL can run 100m in 9.98 seconds, and a CFL slotback can run 100m in 10.4 seconds, who the hell cares? The CFL and the NFL have different rules. Hence, they are different games...with many similarities obviously.

A lineman, I am told, in the NFL could not play in the CFL because with the bigger field CFL linemen need to be quicker and more mobile. With the bigger field and only 3 downs, the CFL is more of a passing game, more wide open. Some qualities a player has may be more adaptable to the NFL, others more adaptable to the CFL.

You can certainly watch NFL football if that is your preference. Personally, I think the Canadian content in the CFL makes it more relevant to me and to many Canadians. And I think most who watch both will admit that the Superbowl is often a snoozefest, over by half time. On the other hand, the CFL final is usually more exciting. I am a proud Canadian and I like to support things that are Canadian and that contribute to what Canada is.

But I am not so foolish to think that CFL athletes could compete on NFL terms with NFL athletes. There is no comparison there. But that is not very important to me.

I am an NFL fan first, but I do not want the CFL to go anywhere. I like the CFL. It is a different game.

I watched the NFL mostly because the Argos were not in the Grey Cup and further I hate Montreal and do not care much for Saskatchewan.

Between Oakville and Oshawa
The CFL is a more interesting game to watch, if only because the players suck(dropped balls, missed tackles, shitty quarter backs) the coaches make bonehead mistakes on a regular basis that would get them fired immediately in the NFL, and the rules are custom made to cover up the bad coaching and shitty plays. But this is what makes it interesting .

Then explain what happened with Bart Andrus with the Argos. Former NFL coach can't cut it north of the border.
