I know that most of the ladies get themselves checked regularly for STDs.

But how often should an active hobbiest drop by the clinic?

Agencies do not require testing.

Why would you assume that all women get tested? Why would any of us do it while working? I got tested when I retired.

If it comes back possitive, and you have no other way to earn money...

You're absolutely right. If you don't know you have am STI, it aint real.

I don't assume that all SPs get tested, only the ones with self-respect.

lol...trust me, a very small percentage of ladies bother to get tested.
Well, I only patronize a few of the higher end agencies... never any indies, so I'm assuming that these agencies exercise a higher level of diligence in making sure that there girls are "clean".

After all it's bad for business if a client catches an STD from one of your girls, isn't it?

Or am I assuming too much?

^^^ not only are you assuming, but being quite naive and totally misguided. Don't generalize, there are many indies who get tested frequently and take care of themselves just as much, if not more, than agency ladies.

It's actually the exact opposite. Agencies are interested in hiring as many girls as they can possible book - do you think girls will stay with them if they're forced to have their pussies examined every month? Indies are usually in it for the long haul - experts who care about their art - for them, keeping healthy is a must if they want to keep working.

When I was working I got tested every three weeks. It wasn't required by any of the agencies I worked for though, and it was only mentioned at one as a good idea, the others just shied away from talking about it. And these were all respectable agencies in my area. I've found indies and long-term agency girls are more pro-active about testing. So trust in the girls who are more popularly reviewed and have been around a while, they are more likely to take care of themselves to ensure their business keeps up.

Why on Earth would a girl get tested? If anything, she has an incentive to not get tested. Presumably what she doesn't know can't hurt her.

Some times I am just amazed at the lack of fundamental understanding in some clients.

Each SP is unique and became an SP for different reasons. Most had financial needs that could not be met in more traditional employment. It does not really matter if that need is to feed your children, to feed your drug habit, to have a rough over your head, or to pay off overwhelming debt. Most of us need money we could not earn any other way.

We all go on and on about liking the adventure and sex and the clients and the freedom, because we get more clients and we can live with it more easily if we believe that. Some girls must really believe that, those who stay in it for several years must. Once we retire we can be honest.

In my case, I had no options and had decided to be an escort for about 9 months or until I paid off everyone who had loaned me money.

Why get tested? Most STIs can either be cured or cannot. There is no medical evidence that a 12 months difference in starting pre-symptom treatment would have a major impact on my health. If I started showing symptoms I would have gone for treatment. The main benefit in getting tested is for your lovers and children if you get pregnant.

Providers who have been working for more than a year or two are in a different position. But most clients want to try the new girls.

If the3 or 6 month test came back positive, what would I do? This is sexual survival business for many SPs, including me. I could not afford to stop working till I had paid off my debts. For many, possibly most of us, if we had another option, we would not be SPs.

I was very lucky; I went through being an SP and did not even pick up herpes. That was luck. And if you think I am unique, you are delusional.

Anywhere YOU want ;)
In order to keep yourself self employed as an SP on a continued basis, you should get checked at least every 6 months.

I am tested for everything every 4 months because I am taking extra precautions. You just never know.

Hopefully everyone continues to play safe! ;)

So what will you do if you test possitive for HIV next time? What are your options? Testing is not a precaution. It is just letting you know you were not lucky.

And of course I lied like crazy to potential clients while working. You have to do it to get clients.
