I recently bought a program called SYSTEM MECHANIC to help my computer run faster....I've been using it for about a month and it's done a great job.
Yesterday, I clicked on an area for cleaning up the computer. When the computer restarted I noticed all of my 'Bookmarks' were dead links and the 'Most Visited' button is useless as well.

Anyone know how to fix this, should I reinstall Firefox?

System restore didn't work.

I just reinstalled FF3 and it's still the same fucking way.

I guess I could re-bookmark everything (all 300 of them...fuck sakes)

Does anyone know how to get the "MOST VISITED" button to work again

...Or should I fly to California and find the Head office of System Mechanic
and club someone over the fuckin' head with a lead PIPE!

When you use apps like SYSTEM MECHANIC you have to very carefully read what they will wipe out when cleaning up and using their scans to avoid things like that happeneing....

System Mechanic should have an "Undo" option or consider these possible solutions.

If Firefox is closed unexpectedly due to a crash, a loss of power, or other unexpected event, the file where your bookmarks are stored can become corrupted, and your bookmarks may be unavailable in Firefox. If you lost your bookmarks within the last five days, you can restore them from the set of backups that Firefox maintains.
Restoring bookmark backups

**********************************************

Restore Your Missing/Deleted Smart Bookmarks Folder in Firefox 3:

1. In the Firefox Address Bar type about:config and press Enter.
2. Find the option that is named browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion.
3. Change the value to 0 by double-clicking on it.
4. Restart Firefox, and you should see the Smart Bookmarks folder located on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

**********************************************

There should be comparable free programs to use instead of System Mechanic. I'd go after a refund.

For free, and you can avoid clearing out your Internet files. I have used it for a while and had no complaints thus far. And, it is for free.
