After all, it's not about the love we get but the love we give.
I have to say, you are truly an honorable person. I admire you for the job you do. it is a gift. I watched my father suffer with cancer for three years before he passed. He had his own judgements for certain rock stars, tattos and piercings and all. He was a prominent business man. You want to see a man's perspectives and judgements change for the better, when he was so saddly lying on his death bed.

Unfortunately there are only a limited number of hours in my day. If I tried to give everyone a chance, no matter how trashy, I'd have to short-change the ones who deserve it.

I am a palliative care nurse and have been for 18 years now.
That means, when you're too cheap or lazy to take care of your dying family members, I'm there, facillitating an easier transition for them and for you as death invades.

The irony of hypocrisy . Don't judge lest ye be judged .

It means they have self-esteem issues ...just like a male with tattoos.
that's your own ego talking *sigh*... I'm fine in my own skin and tattooing has noting to do with self esteem issues...in my life anyway...what nonsense! lol ....just because someone is tattooed, does not mean they are trashy, low classed, not successful or have low self esteem....give your head a shake. lol

Lin ..some people just will never get it ...those are the people that make this world such a nasty place ...only their way, their thoughts, their opinions ...just like the radicals in the middle east ... but we don't cut peoples heads off .....

MLAM...I see your point ...it's kinda like an east/west thing ...the suits all proper and what not and then you have the freebirds all tattooed and what not...you look down on them ,so they do the same ...just like anything ...how blacks and whites have been for years and we're finally breaking that barrier...as people/human intelligent beings (I like to believe lol) we need to learn to accept each other and look at others lifestyles, opinions with an open mind ... I live my life trying not to judge but it's hard when there is so much ignorance in this world..

I could have been a suit (I used to work at the TSE ie: my handle)..I chose to leave and pursue another career with less stress and more fun involved ...I live my life the way I want to and that's all that counts to me ...the rest of the world ,well .."FTW" ...if ya know what I mean... but I don't think you would ..you're a suit ;)

btw...I bet that women is around 100k lol ... ok that is a lil to much ...but she's happy in her own skin and thats all that counts!..wonder if her nipples are tattooed? lol ...I can't even imagine what it would feel like getting my head tattooed ...now that might require some medication lmao ...

Most people just get tattoos plastered all over their body to impress their friends. I like Tattoos that mean something or tell a story. Girls with tattoos on their upper arms look trashy.

Actually, the majority of individuals who have tats, bear them for personal reasons and life experiences. I do not think I would run out and go ink myself because my freind Sally said so. People ask me about my tattoo all the time, I am very proud to tell them what my ink truly means.

on your girlfriend
I have 4 tattoos that have been combined into one large one, almost the size of my upper arm. Each and every one of them has a deep significance to me, and are memories of important parts of my life. These were not done on a whim, I debated for weeks before getting each one of them and in all cases I'm glad I did.

They have nothing to do with being a showoff, as very few people actually see them, nor do they have anything to do with my maturity, esteem, or lack of confidence. Actually, every time I look at them they bring me to a place that is very dear to me.

The tattoos are not for you. They are for me.

People judge other people all the time. Test it. When I wear an Armani suit, I get judged differently then when I go out in my Lucky 13 hoody. It's human nature. What I think people are trying to express in this thread is how do we react to our own judgements of others.

What interests me is that people are surprised they are judged. Especially the ones that know they are on the fringe or lead alternative lifestyles to the 'norm'. Remember most people in a typical society are lemmings. They are mediocre, average and happy to be a SIN number like everyone else. So those 'outside' that bell distribution are subjecting themselves to judgement. I am not suggesting that is right. I am suggesting that those that are surprised at the reactions aren't fooling anyone. It is their choice and they know what the consequences of their actions would be with respect to others judging them.

So now back to tattoos, there was a time when tattoos were a personal expression. They were part of a personal, spiritual journey. Today, I would say many, many people have them for 'fashionable' reasons. Again, I personally judge that as a bit disappointing, but I know better. I know this is how things work and in a way because of this tats are more accepatble and people's judgements of those with tats are changing for the better too. So in the end it's all good.

My tattoos tell the story of my life. Each and every one has been done at a turning point in my life. Some have been turning points for the better, some have been for the worse. Yet each one stands for a major change I have gone through.

In total I have 6 tattoos. One is a very large lower back 'tramp stamp' the rest are smaller.

Does this mean I am trashy? Hell I highly doubt people will use my tattoos to decide that. I think im going to have to battle the stereotypes of my job before the stereotypes of my tattoos.
Whether you believe it or not, a great many people will judge you in a negative way if they see you with tattoos.

Not saying it's right or wrong, it simply is a fact.
