I believe you are incorrect that the only way to lose weight is net calorie reduction. Read a few books: "Good Calories, Bad Calories", and also "The Obesity Code". Caloric restriction diets do not work long tern, nor due excessive exercise programs. I am talking GENRERALLY and PERMANENTLY.
Your HORMONES control your weight. They control your growth weight as a child, Your movement through puberty, they decide when you stop growing. And they set your weight. And it is virtually impossible to "out-willpower" your hormones. You can for awhile, you can lose massive amounts of weight, but your body will fight back. Virtually all the winners on "The Biggest Loser" have gained the weight back - and worse.
Wild animals EATING A NATURAL DIET do not get obese except in the case of animals that require obesity for survival. Let lions eat all the natural food they want and they will not become obese. Obesity stops them from being able to hunt properly.
What other animals get the same diseases that humans do - i.e. cancer etc?
PETS. Why? Because we do not feed THEM a natural diet. What do wolves eat?
ANIMALS, pretty much 100%. What do pet dogs eat? Nowhere near 100% meat, there are grains and vegetables and crap in there that they are not actually designed to eat.
