It was an auction house that usually had estate furniture and house contents. That I have largely furnished the house from.
But that time it was a bunch of lots from some fast food venue or swiss chalet that had closed or changed menu.
Most food stuffs came packed from McCormicks in London ON. I guess other bidders were not there for food service qtys of food, because I got some good deals.
Spicy cheese powder 50lbs now all consumed making nacho platters over the years. Bid $2
kd type cheese powder, down tp last lb or two. bid $2
About 20 spice and dehydrated veg packets for cooking with 6 cups of dry rice at a time. I divide these by weight and we add to water as we make up with 1 cup of rice. Bid $2
2x50lb Biscuit mix like bisquick. Used as 1/3 of the flour we use when making most of our bread in a bread machine. A bit less oil, salt and yeast than standard recipe and the loaf turns out fine. Used all of that up by now. Bid $2 per bag.
15 foil lined bags, of 4 lbs of dried refried kidney beans.
Down to about 8 bags now. I soak and pressure cook a bag at a time and that is enough to make kidney bean needs for 2x 10l of chili when I make a batch, Unused cooked half gets frozen in interim. This lot bid was $5.
Turkey gravy powder that just needs hot water stir and stand. 3 little boxes of 10 packets so about 30 thanksgivings worth for lot price of $2
Sadly COVID moved this auction house to all online and is mostly store returns now.
I really miss the fun of that live auction.
