Eric "Koo-Koo Bananas" Lindros in the HHOF??????? Never. Doesn't have the stats. Doesn't have the Cup. Doesn't have the support.

Absolutely, the attention he brought to himself with refusing to play for the Soo and Quebec, biggest bust ever IMHO.

His career is a point a game rate .... He led Flyers to the Finals .. He was
NHL MVP ... He has a Canada Cup Championship ... When he was healthy
and in his prime he could dominate a game ..

Named to NHL All-Rookie Team - 1993
Hart Memorial Trophy - 1995
Lester B. Pearson Award - 1995
Bobby Clarke Trophy - 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999
Played in 6 All-Star Games - 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000
Won Olympic Silver Medal with Team Canada in 1992 Winter Olympic Games
Won Olympic Gold Medal with Team Canada in 2002 Winter Olympic Games

865 pts in 760 games ..
He's averaging about 1.15 points per game.

If he could maintain that average and get up to 1,000 games he'd make it. Having said that, I highly doubt that will happen.

I wouldn't put him in the Hall simply because he wasn't able to string together a long enough career. Basically his career was the 8 seasons from `93 to `00 (everything he's done since then has been a non-factor). A career of 10 years or less shouldn't get you in the Hall unless you really pack a lot of accomplishments in it like Orr, Dryden and Bossy did.

Having said that though, before the concussions started, he was one of the best players in the game and no matter how bad he was after that, that will never change. All the talk about him being a bust or an underachiever is just revisionist history from fans who always wanted him to fail anyway.

For people who call him a failure because he never won a Cup, does that also apply to Hall of Famers like Sittler, Salming, Perreault, Park, Dionne, Stastny, Gartner, Hawerchuk, Lafontaine, etc.?

Agree, shack. Eric needs at least the equivalent of three or four more solid seasons to get into the Hall. His chances equal that of the Leafs as Stanley Cup champions of 07-08.

This is the Hockey Hall of Fame, not baseball's. Far less deserving people have been inducted, so will Eric.

For one goal?..........Had Eric learned to skate with his head up he may have had a chance, those concussions were his own fault.

No Hall of fame for Mr. Lindros. Maybe things would of been different if he did not decide to come back to early in the playoffs. There are to many what if questions with his carreer
