We are discussing Sade Perkin's observation.
Yes we agree the tragedy and the observation are unrelated.
My comment is that her observations aren't unfounded.
That is all I have to say about that.
Perkins made a perverse and inappropriate comment. You're trying to make what is clearly something wrong a gray matter. I'm stating there are no shades of gray here on this matter.

She wasn't attacking or blaming the victims, rather calling out the system and more specifically MAGA for what they would say had the victims been hispanic/black.
But it is also true her timing was poor and her comments insensitive, even if her observation pointed to an uncomfortable truth.
So it absolutely falls in the gray, especially in the current fascist political climate in the US.

You're in a dark hole of quibbling.

Over 100 people many of them with children died in a natural disaster. We don't need your analogy of police shootings. These issues literally have nothing to do with each other.
Will you be this concerned and political about 100 Americans dying at the next mass shooting or will it be more "thoughts and prayers"?

I have no problems with more gun control and banning of assault rifles.
People are far more complicated politically than idealistic people can wrap their brains around.

So getting back to the point, I and most people don't care what race the dead children are. We look on people who insist on furthering this point with great sadness.

PS- In direct reference to your mocking of "thoughts and prayers", I think you can exercise both sympathy and talking about how to prevent deaths in the moment. So you don't have to wait to discuss gun measures after a shooting. That's why people are talking about the inadequacy of local response.

You just posted proof it wasn't a whites only camp. There's non white girls in that picture.
You don't understand MH. The dead children they are pulling out of the river don't adequately represent the diversity of America.

Yet they won't have an issue with the lack of diversity at this exclusive girls camp 🧐

This has nothing to do with black, white, brown, yellow, and pink. I would round up all the shooters, be they of any color or race, and would love to see them hang and suffer a very slow death.

I have no problems with more gun control and banning of assault rifles.

At least you are for gun control and banning of more lethal weapons, so I will give you credit for that. As for the dead children, I do feel bad for them regardless of skin color but I do want to know if Trump's cuts and local government cuts had anything to do with the deaths. We will find out. As for thoughts and prayers, whenever I hear that, I'd like to see that person take a rubber bullet between the eyes. Notice I said rubber, so don't paint me as the evil leftie, I have a heart.

All their actually tech that is coming out of their factories and the massive advancement in so many areas. If that all happens without massive investment, then its even MORE impressive.
Or they could be faking it...similarly to the assumption that when canada has a flood they are faking the death totals.

This is your fallacy, not mine

Praying was an option presented earlier.

Sometimes in this world you just shut the fuck up.
You can express your sadness.
You can honor with silence.
You can pray for the dead and missing.

Take your pick.
If praying for the drowned children in Texas is not your thing, so be it.

Where exactly are you pulling this nonsense from? Do you have trouble reading, or are you just in a rush to be outraged?

Not once did I mock or dismiss the tragedy of the drowning victims in Texas. You’re inventing outrage, and frankly, it’s pathetic. What I did criticize and will continue to is the hollow parade of “thoughts and prayers” that gets trotted out every time there's a mass shooting in America, instead of real solutions.

It’s remarkable how fragile some of you on the right get whenever a red state disaster hits the headlines. Suddenly, it’s all about "respect" and "not politicizing" tragedy. But flip the script and if it’s a blue state or a Democrat in charge, the same folks jump on their black horses, don their MAGA cowboy hats, and start pointing fingers like it’s a rodeo of blame.

Plane crashes? Must’ve been a DEI hire.

Wildfires? Newsom didn’t rake the forests right.

Russia invades Ukraine? Biden’s fault for not being Putin’s lapdog.

Hamas attacks Israel? “Wouldn’t have happened under Trump,” you scream, ignoring the Abraham Accords that emboldened Netanyahu while doing nothing to address the core conflict, and ignoring the fact that Hamas was firing rockets under Trump, too.

It’s not about facts for you, it’s about outrage cosplay. So Wyatt, maybe take a breath, have a drink, and read posts properly before you go off half-cocked with made-up grievances.

No there are too many people that have gone there and their exported products are also impressive. Its not the kinda thing you can fake. Their batteries get tested buy many external orgs. There is no way to fake a lot of these things and not get caught. Also they have their own space station.

There are also too many people that have died in floods in china, when they only report 6. Your argument is that this happens in canada as well and canada fakes death tolls.

All this investment into the sciences yet the CCP refuses to address the problems of proper sewage and drains...instead they say 6 dead, censor the news and suppress public outcry and never address the issue...

I wrote that earlier in the thread. My point was these are the solemn things people do after a tragedy like the Texas drownings.

You seemed to object to praying so my original thread was referenced. It was very simple and not really meant to be controversial unless you have a lot on your mind.

China has 151 people per sqkm vs 4 for Canada, so of course more people will die in floods. 836 vs 40 in canada from natural disasters. So their death rate is quite low considering 22x the population and 37 x the population density,. Why would they lie? Does it matter if 836 people died vs 1500 or 2K? What about all the bullshit stats that are collected for things like DUI in Canada and people dying from Covid?

Is this a serious question? 6 people dying vs 100s or 1000s of people dying due to poor infrastructure and corruption doesn't 讲好中国故事 (Tell a China story well - Xi.)

Look up all the various floods over the last decade in China alone and the reported death totals. Anyone with half a brain knows they are severely understated and most of these floods are due to poor drainage and the CCPs intense infatuation with dams.

And now look at the media coverage of the tragedy in Texas vs. these floods that occur every year almost in China. But only 6 people die, look at the LED lights on our buildings...Tell a China story well
