Luis Suarez got banned again, this guy never stops biting, spitting. They should fine him heavy money, maybe then he'll stop. He's there just because he's Messi's friend.

Inter Miami striker Luis Suárez has been given a six-game suspension by the Leagues Cup Organizing Committee for spitting at a Seattle Sounders staff member following Sunday's Leagues Cup final.

The Sounders triumphed 3-0 over Miami before a brawl broke out following the final whistle, which saw Suárez have to be held back by teammates and coaches before spitting on a member of the opposing team's staff.

I was wondering why Calafiori wasn't playing, he picked up a knee strain against Estonia. Mancini is a hothead, 4 goals allowed is inexcusable. Gattuso has to call up Buongiorno for the October matches.

Roberto Baggio has never used his strained hamstring as an excuse for missing his spot kick.

Unless Italy starts scoring lots of goals, and stops leaking goals, Norway will win this group.
The tiebreaker goes to goal difference, and Norway is way ahead after this game:

Italy have never been a high scoring team to begin with, so its likely they finish 2nd in the group, which means playoffs again

Turkey is hedging that it will be business as usual in Italy (smart) and have the 2032 Euro all to themselves.

it would be sciaffi in faccia for Italy.

If Italy doesn't get their shit together, Serie A will end up at Ugazzo Bakery.

Lol I caused a shitstorm when I type that United were hurt by by the Municipal government of Manchester using public money to build Ethiad Stadium. United wanted a similar deal, unfortunately the pre-Brexit largess dried up. Since then City has become a powerhouse of European football. This past summer Jimmy Ratcliffe cut the wages of United's support staff. That is demoralizing, a Harold Ballard move.

Honestly not even a bad comparison considering how far down the tubes the Red Devils have gone since Sir Alex retired. 216 million pounds spent this year alone on transfers only to sit 14th in the table tied on points with teams like Brentford, who got most of their talent poached, and got rocked in a cup draw to Grimsby Town, a club in EFL League Two. It seems like nothing they do is working, Amorim is definitely getting sacked by November at this rate, and given how many players are seemingly playing better (McTominay, Antony, Rashford, Hojlund to name a few) than they ever did at United maybe its high time the fans demand Glazers sell the team and clean house to fix the internal culture, a move the Maple Leafs needed to do two decades ago.

In regards to Carpa's list, Sepp Meier was a far better goalie than Van der Sar. He won everything.

That was a unfortunate red card, I think Haaland hooked on to Di Lorenzo's leg.

At least Inter managed to beat Ajax, while Atalanta took a beating and Juve managed to go 4-4 with Dortmund.

Has the Lorenzo Lucca era begun?

I would have preferred to see him against Manchester Shity, especially with Lukaku out long term. He did not celebrate scoring against his former club.

Lucca's goal was very nice. But Pisa kept threatening till the end, they almost put another one in.

This happened in March but I just noticed it. Poor guy lost everything went to jail and the accuser is still anonymous. Great soccer player.

Spain court overturns Dani Alves sexual assault conviction

Brazilian player Dani Alves won his appeal of a sexual assault conviction as a Spanish court overturned the ruling Friday in a case that lasted more than three years and saw the former Barcelona defender spend 14 months in jail.

Alves was found guilty in February 2024 of raping a woman in a nightclub in December 2022 and sentenced to 4½ years in prison. Alves denied wrongdoing during the three-day trial.

That court ruled Friday that there was "insufficient evidence" to rule out Alves' presumption of innocence.

"Dani Alves is innocent, and that has been proven," his defense lawyer Inés Guardiola told Catalan radio RAC1. "Justice has finally been served."

The plaintiff's lawyer did not immediately respond to The Associated Press when emailed and messaged asking for comment.

The Alves trial was the first high-profile case since Spain overhauled its laws in 2022 to make consent central to defining a sex crime in response to an upswell of protests after a gang rape case during the San Fermin bull running festival in Pamplona in 2016.

The legislation popularly known as the "only yes means yes" law defines consent as an explicit expression of a person's will, making it clear that silence or passivity do not equal consent.

But the four judges of a Barcelona-based appeals court ruled unanimously to overturn the conviction after reviewing the evidence and testimonies given to the lower court. In their ruling, they wrote that the testimony of the plaintiff "differed notably" from evidence of video footage taken before the woman and Alves entered the bathroom where she said he forced her to have sex without her consent.

Before last year's trial, the woman told state prosecutors that she had danced with Alves at the nightclub and willingly entered the bathroom, but that later when she wanted to leave he would not let her. She said he slapped her, insulted her and forced her to have sex against her will.

Alves denied those accusations at the three-day trial.

"She never told me to stop. We were both enjoying ourselves," Alves said, while repeating that the woman never asked to leave or made any indication that she did not want to have sex with him. He also denied having slapped or insulted her.

Alves, now 41, was kept in jail from Jan. 20, 2023 to March 2024 until he was released after paying 1 million euros (then $1.2 million) for bail while awaiting his appeal. He also handed over his passports, with prosecutors having argued against releasing him on bail because of a possible flight risk.

Prosecutors wanted his prison sentence increased to nine years, while the woman's lawyer wanted him to stay behind bars for 12 years.

This decision could be appealed to the Spanish supreme court in Madrid.

Alves was one of the most successful players of his generation and won dozens of titles with elite clubs including Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

He was with Liga MX club Pumas when he was arrested. Pumas terminated his contract immediately.

If Alves stayed at Juventus, the club would have protected him like they did with Ronaldo.

As for the Scudetto chase, I don't care who wins it as long as they develop domestic talent. The Azzurri missing out on a third World Cup would cause mass suicide.
