Youtube loads so slow, each video pauses every 10 seconds. It never did that with XP?

I sent PM's that took 20 fucking minutes. WTF?

I have to say, Macs are not all as smooth and happy as Apple would like you to believe.

I've gone from Vista to OS X and I must tell you, OS X looks a bit primitive compared to Vista in terms of feature set. Of course everything is simpler but that does not translate in to a more fulfilling experience. That said, OS X does a much better job at using resources so it is indeed faster than Vista on my Bootcamp partition.

If you get a Mac, do expect a little "dumbing down" as things are much more simplistic in OS X. And yes, Mac's do crash from time to time but mainly due to third party software and not because of the OS X.

i really dont know what everyone is complaining about with vista. i've never had a problem and it's fast as hell for me.

It's usually the low memory systems and lower end laptops with slower HD and trim downed processors that have most of the issues. Anything with 1 Gig and more memory should work just fine...

Vista works perfectly fine for me here too on a MacBook with Bootcamp.

Our IT guys don't even want to touch Vista ... just too many headaches, they'd rather stay on XP.

Just picked it up today. Studio 17 Dell
I upgraded a $699 to $1200 bluray & everything.
Video card sound card is top of the line.

It's slow and shitty. My Internet provider is on of the fastest in Canada.


It's VISTA that sucks. It's Shit!!!!

i agree..Vista is seriously retarded....when I watch flash anything in full screen my whole laptop is frozen...had countless BSOD come up...I have nothing major loaded on my laptop in terms of 3rd party software...did all scans..reinstalled vista...this laptop is barely 4mths old and all drivers are totally updated...one day I will drop this from my balcony and watch it shatter...

Ive never had any problemsas far as youtube or watching a video goes.But Vista sucks as far as compatablity with most programs. For instance I cant get nero to work so no MP3 CDs for me. I wouldnt write windows off completly though. XP was always good to me.

Eventually, Windows Updates may end up breaking your Vista beyond any repair...do a search on Google and you'll see the millions of people having this problem.
Vista has a nice 'recovery' function that lets you do a System Restore BEFORE even booting into Windows....DOESN'T WORK!! It's a piece of shit!!! Puts on a nice show, with bells and whistles, but then...NADA!!!

Read from a computer engineer what's causing the probs with the updates...he studied it well after his Vista Enterprise got FUBAR'd...
He found that when you're comp connects to the windows servers to get the updates, the Microsoft servers have probs figuring out which version of Vista you have (it's their own fucking O/S! WTF?!?!?!) and downloads/installs the wrong updates for your version. NICE!!!

So, what's a girl to do? Their O/S has more holes than a bus full of Thai lady-boys, you need the updates to ward against security breaches, but the update may end up fucking you, HARD, like a bus of Thai lady-boys!

That's really strange. You must be flying through tasks. If you got it today then you definitely have the Service Pack as well.

Try uninstalling whatever junk Dell pre-installed on your computer. Also download FireFox and see if there is any difference in browsing.

That's because from a network admin viewpoint it's too hard to adminstrate due to security features.

For home use it's fine .... I use Vista it on a laptop and a desktop and no problems. Fast as hell, esp since SP1, and not a single crash in almost a year on either PC. And if the constant "allow or disallow" prompts bug you they can easily be disabled in the user control settings.

No problems jerking off to porn streams either *lol*

You do realize a lot of people want the peace of mind of the warranty through one supplier? They can't be bothered with dealing with 10 different suppliers and the idiotic return policy of Canada Computers where, unlike any decent business, you are guilty unless you can prove otherwise.

I had an LG LCD that I bought from them last year, thinking what a great deal I got that ended up flickering after 10 minutes of use. Took it back and spent half an hour waiting for their stupid tech to show up cause they had to see the defect. Took another 10 minutes to convince him it takes 10 minutes for the defect to show up, all the while they are treating me like a criminal who is trying to cheat them somehow. Finally of course it started flickering and so after much hoopla they swapped it.

Guess what, it just started to flicker again last week! Fortunately it had 15 days until the end of the warranty so LG sent me another one but I'm sure this one will go defective too.
