Drove past a few gas stations today and saw the line ups were insane. Is it really worth lining up for an hour?

Apparently its supposed to go up 7 cents a litre overnight and another 7 cents per litre tomorrow overnight. Ridiculous but still not worth lining up for for even 15-20 minutes.

I think the same way…. Not worth the time.

I also have a chuckle when they interview people complaining about gas prices, yet they’re driving a $80K+ Mercedes…

Gotta love that my car uses regular. The price of high-octane gas is even more nuts...

I'd buy an EV if it wasn't for "range anxiety", which would be intense for me, and the time and effort it takes to get recharged when your not doing it overnight at home.

At one point, there was a 6 cent spread between regular and mid-grade.

Little by little, mainly when there's some price volatility, they increase the spread. The last time I looked it was about 20 cents per litre difference.

Took the drive to Shannonville on Saturday. Paid 154.9/L for premium. In Ajax it was 159.9 for regular. It's almost getting to the point where it is worth heading out there just for gas without the other products purchased... ($100 for 3 oz)

I was on the road around 7:30 last evening. There was no lineup at all so I topped up. Whoever thought that $1.56 per litre would look like a good price?

No problem. Just go to fill up after midnight, lines should be shorter then.
Speaking of filling up late at night. Where I live the price goes down after 9pm. Not sure why.
Then goes back up early in the morning for people going to work.

I managed to fill up before the increase however downtown I saw regular and mid-grade all sold out.

Tesla fixes this…one day people will understand what this means especially once we start paying over $2 per l. I think they are starting to smell it but not yet. Solar panels, maybe even a small wind generator batteries and Tesla because they have the best range and proven reliable technology which is getting better by the day. Eventually it will come to a point where it will be too expensive for the average folk. All I see is the price of gas going up thanks to our delusion leadership hoping to bring some imagined state of euphoria to all with their brilliant and award leading green initiatives. I guess delusion and disconnections from reality have a price.

Then why aren't you driving a Tesla?
You are calling yourself delusional and disconnected.

How will the energy to charge all the car batteries be generated and how will the expired toxic car batteries be disposed of.

I am saving up for one when I can afford it hopefully soon. It might push me to do it sooner if gas prices keep increasing especially past $2. I have my reservation for Cybertruck from day one from a while and hoping timing works out.

Their range currently is approximately 200,000 miles and apparently have a 1 million mile in the works. My understanding there are industries existing and coming online dealing with recycling of this technology.

Energy to charge it can come from solar panels, wind generators if you have a nice back yard and you can store it inbattery banks and maybe even sell it back to grid. If this does not work buy it at off peak rates and store it for future use. Can be programmed.

Going forward it is not possible to charge and recharge all of the vehicle batteries if the combustion engines are replaced by EV, with solar panels and wind generation alone. China has cornered the market on solar panels for now which would further make the West beholden to their supply chain.

I don’t know about the rest but for me it could work and I could charge it completely off solar based on my needs. I drive about 400 km per week.

Solar panels are cheep now days and can probably find deals of battery banks. You don’t need to use solar city for it or whatever it’s called now.

Just filled up. About 25% more than a little over a week ago, but no lines and full serve with a discount for cash. I'd wait in line if I had to, though...
