Hope the guy is alright! He is a great personality and an amazing enforcer.

Who is a fan of no-removing-helmets during the fight?

That's the thing about fighting. It's tough because you love to watch a good fight with the hopes that nobody gets seriously hurt.

Having said that, he could have just as easily had somethng like that happen during a normal play.

Maybe it happens all the time but I notice this first time: it was a nice move the Leafs trainers are on the ice giving a hand in the aftermath.

Ya but a lot of people do not like the rule that players MUST keep them on during fights.. Mainly the fighters themselves...
There is no rule that players MUST keep them on during fights.

Did you notice that Orr immediately signal for help (Code of The Warrior)?
Yes, I did and I also noticed the look of genuine concern on his face, the tapping of all the Leafs' stick trying to show empathy for a fallen guy. Classy.

.
There is a penalty for taking your own helmet off during a fight. New rule. That's was why Frazer invited his party to take it off, it even out the penalties, remember here that Frazer is wearing a visor, so it is also a classy move by another Leaf.

You are both kind of right, but not quite correct.
JTBC ... Players may not remove their own helmets, but should they come off during the course of play(or in a fight) then no penalty for removing helmet.

Yes, or 'code of a human being'.

Players will quickly find out (or they should) that they will rarely be penalized two minutes. Because of the nature of major penalties, they will in almost every case be sitting in the penalty box for longer than the 5 minutes, or in effect serving 5 minutes plus the time before the next whistle, so the additional penalty could in effect only be one minute or if there is an extended time without a whistle it could have no impact.
Players will take their helmets off and it will be a rule with very limited effect.

Poor logic. Your assuming there will be a whistle at the 7 minute mark.. which is not the case. Instead of waiting say 5:45 you could be waiting 7:45.

Fighters want them off so that they do not break their hand when punching a helmet or cutting their hands on a mask. Most are there to fight so if they injure their hands they may be out of a job.

Anybody else think Orr pulled him down while falling?
Yeah, but I don't believe for a minute that it was intentional. Happens often enough...just usually not with such a brutal result. Sometimes they get up and go at it some more if the linesmen don't get in there fast enough, and I believe that's all Orr was thinking---plus it happened so fast.

They were not even fighting yet, just tussling around, as always in fight, holding each other by the jerseys or tangled up in some way. Orr fell down and as a result Parros fell on top of Orr, but the face hit the ice without any hand free to protect the head nor cushion the fall. If anyone say Orr pulling him down it is not incorrect but then it is not the whole picture and totally unfair to Orr.

Anyway, it is horrible for a player to suffer like that, but in the real world accidents like that happen too often, sometimes to people who is less fortunate to have a whole country feeling his pain, nor the resource for treatment.
