Did anyone else see that goal by Oneil last night in OT? Holy shit, what a rocket. It was glove side too, and Theodore faned it. Caught him off guard I think. Sundin was in front if the net kind of blocking his view. Great game, everyone skated hard the whole game. The crowd in Montreal was stunned. Leafs win Leafs win....5-4
Was a good goal. My only concern still seems to be Eddie. He was fantastic in the 1st period but didn't look too good after that.
You can really tell he is getting old. I mean he can still stand on his head sometimes, but there are flashes of old here and there. He seems to have some problem with handling the puck in the no-handle zones now. Kind of getting use to it, but not completely. I still think Allison needs to step it up a bit. Lindross is Lindross, he is there but not a WOW. Sundin was a precense as usual. Wellwood is really going to be something special. Steen is solid.

Even in slow mo' it was hard to even see the puck, just the bottle and the net moving. As far as Belfour goes, he did keep them in it in the first period but didnt look great afterwards but i think he was totally screened on most of those goals. Not an excuse just watching the replays he seemed to be. What pissed me off most about last night was Stajan getting nailed into the boards from behind by Zednik i think, no call, Stajan gets up, puts a hand on Zednik (impeding slightly yes) and gets called then Habs score on the PP. Crap non call. Whining? no they won but still it was a poor non call. Im over it now though. lol
Yeah I caught that too. The refs sometimes seem to bve harsh on the leafs. I dunno if it is just me but sometimes I think they are against us, being that we are the "home of hockey" and all. Everyone hates Toronto except leaf nation. You know my biggest pleasant suprise after the lock out is how well Kaberle is playing. He must have worked hard during the lock out. He is playing much better in my opinion. Has a real matured vibe to him. Skates well, and he is actually pretty offensive. I dunno...
Get used of the refereeing. With the new rules this is what ya get. Non calls will always happen no matter what.

Leafs win 5-1.
The game tonight was very good. We set the tone early with a goal in the first few minutes of the game. There was no PP goal this time, all on full strength, one was short handed. Leafs are starting to look really good. Kaberle is starting to look like a real star for us. Not to mention McCabe, who has been nothing but great for us. All the rooks look promising. Wellwood wasn't dominant this game, biut skated well. Steen was great though getting the early goal. Can't wait to see a game live...can't get tickets though!!

nice to see hartley behave himself! and quinn likewise played some of the younger players late in the game... good show instead of trying to run up the scoreboard. (me think quinn sent a message last time... oct. 14)

Ok so we are off for a few days, and it showed tonight. Boston came in tonight hungry for a win, and boy did they show it. Just looked like they wanted it more tonight. They were checking harder, skating harder, and hitting harder. The Leafs looked like they were just standing around waiting for something to happen. And Eddie, although I love you, please pretty please stay in the net. He could have avoided that one. In any case, today's game was shit. The few days off we had obviously didn't serve us any good. Pack up, prepare for Carolina on Friday, and put this one behind us.

So after the defeating lose on Wednsday to Boston, the Maple Leafs were looking to bounce back against Carolina who seems to have had a pretty good start to the year. Looking lost at times, I think it would be good if Pat Quinn was to stop juggling the lines around, and give the players a little time to gel, and formulate some sort of chemistry. The lines don't seem to be playing with much synergy and tend to look like they need more practices together.
Darcy Tucker was absent as he was with his wife as they are expecting a new baby in the next few days. The team needed him tonight as they seemed to have lacked his fire and heart. Will he play on Saturday against Montreal?
And is it just me or does Tellqvist seem to drop down too quickly? I always see him dropping very early, and not covering the top of the net.
