ok I am for freedom of religion but a knife in the classroom, is this not pushing it too far. He may not use it but jail guards dont always use teir batons eiter, what I am saying is that if a fight breaks out and even if he does not use it fact is someone else can use it.

That is just sick. I hope they allow every other child in the school to have weapons now too incase the day comes that there is an attack/fight against classmates. (sarcastic of course) I do not know hardly anyone who has not been in a fight at one point and time during thier schooling years. The schools are getting more an more violent over time now as it is, now all they are inviting is more violence. Even symbols of violence in my opinion.

I recall the day when my mother took away even my water gun because she believed it was not right, when she seen me saying bang bang bang.

When I was in highschool in US you were not allowed to carry a mickey-mouse knife on your key chain ........nor were you allowed to bring an exacto knife , nor have any sharp object period .......not even a glass if you get the drift how extreme they went ....security for entering and leaving the building ...plus security parking ....(which a bottle or smokes got you thru with some ) ........they could open your locker at any time with for any reason ....The message was no violence and no weapons and any sharp object was considered a weapon .Now adays its probably more intense in highschool .This issue has nothing to do with religion but safety in schools with immature highschool mentalities .Even though it sucked when they felt like interagatting you ....them were the breaks ....If the drama club had a play with a pirate .....do you think the sword was allowed to go with the costuming .....Absolutely not !




So what happens if a kid wants to kick this guys ass .....for whatever reason ........ ..If he decides to use it self defense ......Is it a religious self defense ? Does he win by religuos default even if he instigates it ???

BTW were all the parents invited to these hearings to have thier voices heard on this issue? I am sure there are lots more parents that would be concerned of the possibilities of something tragic happening and even the appearance of said object would not send the right image to thier children. Not every parent nor every child has to agree with thier ways nor should they have to learn thier religion to get better understanding of it, it's plain and simple if you are not in that religion the message is violent object.

I do not think the parents voices are heard as much anymore and the system is just running everything. All this after we heard of that other boy that was beaten continually in his school. Where I lived before moving into this apt. I seen kids beating up kids in the park on the way home from school, once they are off school property the school will say that they have no control over the children and they are not thier responsibility so the school did nothing to the boys that attacked the other.
