I have a clipper but how do you do your back?

as @The Options Menu mentioned. My hair is afro/curly not straight it grows upward. So I can get away without a mirror.
When I first started trimming myself I started with the highest attachment. Then work my way down to what I liked. Mind you I have seen a lot of YT video from white / black guys.

Also I bought corded trimmer mid range price back then 150.00 or so. From a real manufacture where hairstylist buy their products, not CT.

Hand mirror, practice, and go slow.

One time I did back of my head, but forgot to change clippers to a higher blade setting>>>> bald spot!!!

some of you guys...it all revolves around saving a buck, going out and buying a razor and other stuff and each to his own
but getting a hair cut is a small , pleasure i enjoy every 3 months or so
i go to the same old guy for the last 5/6 years
enjoy the banter
the razor cut at the back of the neck
the clean fresh feeling after
all for 22$ plus tip...so for a 100$ a year...there is some value there
small , little pleasures

I got that kind of thing out of the way during COVID. At this point I'm pretty much a well oiled machine.

Pre pandemic I use to go to a barber, but during the pandemic I was paranoid and learned to cut my own hair. The first few times were not that good, but you learn as you go. I never liked going to a barber because of the combs and clippers are use on many people. After a visit to a barber, I use to run home and throw Nizoral on my head to kill the cooties.

I kind of got lucky in this regard. I went to the same girl at Lady Janes for a couple years. A chain the US that only does mens hair. They hire (mostly) attractive younger women, they have TVs at each chair with sports on, and they push the upsell for hair washes, neck and shoulder massage, warm towel neck shave etc.....The girl i went to had left there, and I found on face book a few years later that she became a master barber, and opened her own shop. Obviously shes not as young as she was when we met then years ago, but still has a great rack and booty...and seems to exclusively wear yoga pants/shorts, and is a very skilled barber, and a very friendly person to chill with for the 15-20 minutes it takes. She charges $20.oo for a cut and hot towel neck shave. I tip her $10.00. It may seem like a lot for the tip...but the chains all charge 25-30$ for the same service around here anyway. So I still come out ahead, because i would tip some amount anyway. Plus I know i am getting a consistent cut, and dont have to try to find another stylist with a great ass.

i think Sports Clips has the same kinda set up.....but i still prefer the old goat i see..
