All that being said, I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. Oddly enough, I used to vacation in the St. Pete's/Clearwater area in the early 80s, the birthplace of Hooters.
Loved that place. On Gulf to Bay Blvd Been there a hundred times.

I actually love Hooters wings. 🤷‍♂️

Speaking of Gulf to Bay Blvd, do you remember that strip club called the "Tanga Lounge" off the Courtney Cambell Causeway near the Hyatt? It was the first place that did full contact grinding lap dancing. Guys would go in wearing baggy sweatpants! :ROFLMAO: Loved that place. Used to stay at that Hyatt specifically to go to theTanga!

The date on the article is July 2 , 2019.

Not sure how it applies to Hooter's current status financially.

I went to the one near the airport a couple of years ago out of curiosity.

Ugly waitresses, had to send back the soggy fish & chips I ordered. Inedible.

It doesn't apply. Was just replying to the guy recalling the original Hooters. And how grinding lap dances started nearby. This being a SEX forum and all. 🤷‍♂️

But as to their pending bankruptcy. Already noted... private equity firms bought the company, sold $300 million in (junk) bonds and pocketed it.

You ordered FISH AND CHIPS at a restaurant that is famous for chicken wings? :ROFLMAO: You should try the New York bagels in Montreal too!;)

I'm one of those rare guys who hates chicken wings. I mean, who can fuck up fish & chips to the point of being disgusting, and as I recall it was the Hooters special of the day.

And I agree, New York, and even Toronto, bagels, don't even come close to Montreal's, in taste and texture...

If you want what I consider the best fish and chips in the GTA, Check out New Toronto Fish and Chips in South Etobicoke. They fry in beef tallow and the chips are second to none.

Agree about the MOntreal bagels being unmatched outside of MOntreal. However, I really do like NuBugel in Kensington Market. Wood fired. But I just tried looking them up for a link and seems they closed.
