Hooters of America sold to 2 private equity firms
Nord Bay Capital and TriArtisan Capital, which just bought P.F. Chang's, are acquiring the chain as it continues to struggle with brand perception, sales declines and unit reduction.www.restaurantdive.com
Another victim of a private equity buyout.
Loved that place. On Gulf to Bay Blvd Been there a hundred times. All that being said, I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. Oddly enough, I used to vacation in the St. Pete's/Clearwater area in the early 80s, the birthplace of Hooters.

It doesn't apply. Was just replying to the guy recalling the original Hooters. And how grinding lap dances started nearby. This being a SEX forum and all.The date on the article is July 2 , 2019.
Not sure how it applies to Hooter's current status financially.
I went to the one near the airport a couple of years ago out of curiosity.
Ugly waitresses, had to send back the soggy fish & chips I ordered. Inedible.
I'm one of those rare guys who hates chicken wings. I mean, who can fuck up fish & chips to the point of being disgusting, and as I recall it was the Hooters special of the day.It doesn't apply. But as to their pending bankruptcy. Already noted... private equity firms bought the company, sold $300 million in (junk) bonds and pocketed it.
You ordered FISH AND CHIPS at a restaurant that is famous for chicken wings? You should try the New York bagels in Montreal too!

If you want what I consider the best fish and chips in the GTA, Check out New Toronto Fish and Chips in South Etobicoke. They fry in beef tallow and the chips are second to none.I'm one of those rare guys who hates chicken wings. And I agree, New York, and even Toronto, bagels, don't even come close to Montreal's, in taste and texture...![]()
