I also agree this is double standard and somehow unfair.
Nowadays it is safer for a man to keep his comments and opinion about a woman to himself (well maybe less so in pickup bars). Anything from deliberate physical and verbal vulgarity to a casual innocent praise of beauty can be interpreted as "sexual harassment".
It is all about what is in your mind and what is in her mind at that moment. It is all about intention, you just never know.
On the other hand, women pulling a stunt like Meredith would be called "liberated modern women", because she is "not afraid to express herself about what she thinks and wants", even personal sexual desire. The action will be brushed off as "teasing" and "girls just want a bit of fun".
I guess this is just the way our society is trying to keep men in check from being too "sexually" (?) aggressive, while encouraging women to be more "sexually" (?) aggressive / "open"?
I guess this stems from the historical belief (fact) that "men take advantage of women", and the fact that the vast majority of forceful nonconsensual sexual behaviour were made by men on women?
