How in the world do you know Heatley is going to be good in the playoffs??? He's never played a single playoff game in the NHL??Dimitri said:i think ott won this one (depending on def) hossa may have better reg season numbers next season but heatley will be far more effective then hossa for playoffs. Ott dosent need help getting in they need help going through and heatley i believe gives them a better chance at that.
Well they can't really sign Chara and Redden to extensions, without fucking themselves up right now. They just got out of a Cap bind with that trade, it essentially puts them back under 39 million. They give out extensions with raises, they put themselves over again.Goober Mcfly said:Looks like the defenceman will be DeVries.
I'm still in shock. I really liked Hossa. But Heatley will be great as well. All in all, a good trade in my books. Now if Ottawa can sew up Chara and Redden for contract extensions, and let's get to playin' some hockey!
I heard Redden was leaving.....just rumourGoober Mcfly said:Looks like the defenceman will be DeVries.

in juniors he was playoff MVP... much like Iginla when he was in junior, his strength really shows in playoffs. I guess he's yet to prove himself, but i'd be willing to bet he would be an outstanding playoff body to have on any team, imo.handsome sugardaddy said:How in the world do you know Heatley is going to be good in the playoffs??? At least they'll get a good draft pick for the 2006 entry draft (which they'll probably trade for Jeremy Roenick or Mark Messier)BrianK said:John Muckler makes a bone head move in signing Hossa to a $18 million over 3 year deal. And makes up for it by trading Hossa for Heatley. WOW what a move!!!! God! My Leafs are Sooo getting their ass kicked this year!!!!!!
I thought Ottawa lost the arbitration case first, so reluctantly went for the for the $18 mil sign and trade for a highly valued Heatley (who comes in at $13 mil - not sure how many years but 3 I think)BrianK said:John Muckler makes a bone head move in signing Hossa to a $18 million over 3 year deal.
