Eat only veg, fruit, meat, and drink water. Get some excercise.
Very good advice. No pop...no chips, nothing junky. Also, along with eating veggies, fresh fruit, meat, eggs(hard boiled) drink water by the gallon. Again, no coffee, nothing with caffeine, just water. Eat every day at the same time, ie. breakfast, lunchtime, dinnertime. It has taken me approx. 8 months to lose 47 pounds with a couple setbacks. Lots of exercise too,..ie. walks wherever and whenever you can.

It can't be done, not by June. See your doctor, have a physical, see what he says and away you go. Set realistic goals, maybe 20-25lbs by June. Diet is key and so is exercise. Your age is important too. While dieting and exercising you will hit bumps on the road where your weight won't go down, don't fret.

Having a little bit of knowledge in this, you can do one of two things. Go to a pre paid plan. Dr Bernstein, Jenny Craig...etc. Second if you choose to do it yourself and you're serious (You still won't lose 50 pounds) Like others have said, strict diet. I would also take out fruit. Do not consume over 600 calories a day and join the gym and go twice a day. Cardio in the morning and weights and Cardio in the evening.

Eat 4 meals a day and nothing past 8pm. Diet is the thing, compared to exercise. It's a 75% to 25% ratio. No Sugar (even fruit) no Carbs, no fat.

There are an infinite number of ways to lose weight and in every single case the desired effect is achieved when you expend more calories than you consume. Pick the technique that you feel you can maintain the longest.

Do not put a time frame on it.

There is no quick way to lose weight. Yo, yo dieting is a big na na and in the long run you will regain your weight and or put on more weight. What you have to do is have a life style change. Like everyone has said do something you enjoy. Even if it is walking in the beginning. Interval training is great mixed with free weights or core work is great too. Try getting a trainer to motivate you and get you on the right foot. You wouldn't believe how much more work you will get done with a trainer or a gym verses just training at home.

Try getting the book The eat-clean diet by Dr. Lisa Hark. The book has great recipes in it. It is hard to eat clean and take care of yourself. So if you fall off the wagon, just dust yourself off and get back into your new life style.

Also try joining the website spark people it is so great and helpful.

I hope that helps

First pick a goal that's possible. Then develop a strategy that suits you. Since you think 50lbs needs to come off, and it won't, look for bathing suits that are a bit complementary to the bigger figure.

I can give you the advise my doctor told me. Take the Canada food plan, follow it and it works. I lost 50lbs, averaging 2 lbs a week. I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with specific snacks in between.
I worked on a 4 days meal cycle.
breakfasts included 1. Yogurt and a fruit 2. small bowl of cereal and a fruit 3. 1 egg sandwich (whole wheat) and a fruit 4. 2 fruit
Lunch included Salad most days with either a 8 oz protein (chicken, pork, beef, tuna etc) or a small starch (pasta or sandwich).
Dinner was always steamed or boiled veggies with a protien

snacks were either fruit or veggies

I cut down to 1 coffee a day...couldn't deprive myself of the morning coffee

drink water all day (this is a must)

Funny thing, the first two weeks I gained 3 lbs..then it started to fall off

I was a miss breakfast, quick lunch, big dinner guy. This has helped a lot, my knees feel better (I have had 7 surgeries) and dropped froma 38 waist to a 32/33.

I played Rugby at 250lbs until my early 30's and stayed around that weight into my late 40's, although my body shape and muscle density changed.

Good luck..

Cheers

Yes...you have to really temper the intake of starch and carbs. But it worked for me.

Cheers

Dr Bernstein will starve the weight off you. He will use insults and intimidation so that you lose the weight. I know someone who used to work for him. It was not uncommon for angry husbands to threaten to beat him up because he made thier wives cry with his tactics.

50 pounds to lose by June is next to impossible.
Are you kidding me?
When I wrestled in High school + university I could easily and without to much work lose 30 pounds a month and be ready to rock in a tournament.
It's damn possible since a guy who is 50+ pounds overweight in not in a natural state.

Clean up your diet ASAP. If you have the will power eat only green veggies (lots and lots- more than you can stomach), lean proteins (not too lean as you need sat/ fats to boost test levels) and a good heaping of the good fats.

Make your diet 50% protein and eat a lot of veggies. As soon as the weight is off reduce to 40% protein, add fruits+ veggies and good fats.

Not only you'll lose the weight you'll feel like a million bucks. Of course exercise is a must.

I'm in shape now but if you asked me to lose 20 ponds in a month I could do it eyes closed.

Mu number one recommendation, and you won't believe how this will help your body- a lot of green veggies- spinach, broccoli, celery etc. That will change your life around. Oh and the wrestlers secret Avacadoes.

Don't listen to anyone who says "can't". With will power and hard work you can do as you please.

Bullshit. I had a friend who went to him. He's curt but not abusive. I attended many meetings with her. I say his secret is in the injections. He has something in there that is prescription quality and lies about it.

Keep the belly, own it and be proud of it! :thumb:
The truth is my friends who are muscular but have a stomach do the best with woman. It's weird but a certain kind of build gets them like crazy. Think Mark Hunt at his best weight. He was never really cut but muscular and bulky . His belly was never big but wasn't the typical model 6 pack. He was in shape but not to the bone cut shape.
I have a friend like that who picks up woman like crazy and he's average looking but a bulky type guy with a solid body. He even looks like Mark Hunt.

The Bernstein approach is highly controversial.

But I think he did beat those charges.

Assuming he wants to lose weight to be more attractive to women, OP has it all wrong anyway. As we all know, women are only interested in a man's height!

Work out and eat healthy :)
What manner of ridiculous fad advice is this?! Expend energy building muscle and cardiovascular strength, and make good food choices?? Preposterous!

What works for me is to eat like a lemur. Crickets and beetles twice a day, and hop around sideways.
