The Velocity Diet worked for me, and helped me lose 20lbs in 30 days when I was overweight. That said, I wasn't very muscular at the time so I became skinny fat. I didn't really have much muscle to lose, but the workout regimen with the program is supposed to limit muscle loss.
As it has been mentioned, 50lbs by June might not be healthy. The Velocity Diet is a short-term program so you wouldn't want to extend it much past 30 days. 30lb is a more reasonable goal in my opinion.
