How to lose a quick 50 pounds by June?

The Velocity Diet worked for me, and helped me lose 20lbs in 30 days when I was overweight. That said, I wasn't very muscular at the time so I became skinny fat. I didn't really have much muscle to lose, but the workout regimen with the program is supposed to limit muscle loss.

As it has been mentioned, 50lbs by June might not be healthy. The Velocity Diet is a short-term program so you wouldn't want to extend it much past 30 days. 30lb is a more reasonable goal in my opinion.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'll add my advice because I think most diets are shit. Here are 3 easy steps.

1) Eat well-balanced meals
2) Exercise at least 1 hour everyday. Buy a seat-on-the-floor stationary bike (don't know what they're called) and put it in front of a PS3. 1 hour no problem. You won't even watch the time.
3) Don't eat anything after dinner.

edit: it's called a recumbent bike.

I suppose it's possible to lose 50 lbs in 10 weeks, but I'd say only a 'professional dieter' could do it. If you are starting out and don't know what you're really doing, going for more than 1-2 lbs a week is too much and probably unhealthy.

Try to stay away from certain alcohol. A bottle of red wine is about 700 calories, 200 calories for a bottle of beer.
