I NEED A JOB !!!!

OK ... here is my first SERIOUS post ...

I NEED A JOB !!!

For the past few years, I have been working during the summers while in school. Now I am outta a school and need a long term, permenant job.

I have applied with the Federal Govt and haven't had any replies yet. And I do check out that www.gojobs.on.ca website and send out my resume every week ... but no luck ...

I need a job because I need money to keep me in this hobby.

I am nearly rock bottom now as far as savings from my summer job, so if any of you are looking for a young, fresh grad. from school who has some experience, please PM me and I will forward you my resume ...

BTW, it does not have to be related to this indsutry. But I am willing to do anything as long as I can at least sustain myself ...

But, I did go to the University of Female Foot Worship and got my degree in toe sucking and foot licking ... hehehehe

It would definitely help if you could tell us what you were studying and what your degree is in (seriously)....

That's true mailman ...

Well, here is my serious reply ...

I majored in political science and my interest is in political philosophy, political economy, development and modernization, culture and public policy.

I took alot of electives from the economics and philosophy department because I found that stuff interesting.

I also did alot of research papers on the oil industry, modernization and development in East Asia and production in the auto industry. My thesis was on modernization and development from a philosophical perspective comparing East and West.

I guess my interest in economics stems from the fact that I started out as a business student in my first two years but switched to politics because I simply fell in love with it.

Hope that helps ...

(My god !!! I can't believe I posted something THAT serious !!! LOL)

Try this

There must be an incall that needs a good business manager. You'll need the politics to deal with the ladies and the economics should come in handy when you do their weekly spread sheet.

Maybe you could also double as a driver.

I would definitely NOT depend on the federal government to help you find a job or give you one.

Understanding Engineers

The graduate with a Science degree asks, "Why does it work?"

The graduate with an Engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"

The graduate with an Accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"

The graduate with an Arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

dave. i am the second one, and i still dont have a real job.

I'm in the fourth category but I get to say "sign here please"

try the gov't dave but don't expect much. most of the fed stuff is not in toronto and can be very uncertain.

you will just have to keep looking.

I too have an Arts Degree. Japanese Studies and Political Science. I have applied for over 70 jobs with the Federal and Provincial Gov't and got one interview it was a typing test. I failed. Being white and non-francophone I have given up on getting a fed gov't job. Everyone I know who has been hired with the gov't has at least a Masters degree (but in the arts too).

HAHAHA .... that's a funny one I have not heard before man !!! LOL

Yeah Remo, I hear yah ...

One of the reasons I went into politics is because I really wanted to work for the Gov't. Maybe because of my Confucian background, it is an honor to work for the governemnt man.

I mean, remember back in the days during the Meiji Era when people from the national university were called upon to serve the government man ?!?!?! Shit ... that is honor man !!!

I have been registered with the Fed since Aug 2002 and have written the test with a passing grade. So they tell me I am in the inventory. But yet, still man ... no reply from any department what so ever ...

Now, I am aggressively looking at the Privincial government instead. If that doesn't work ... I will have to try my campaigning and hook up with the manicipal government.

If nothing works ... I will then have to submit to reality and work for a private company .... :-(

I have dishonored my family, a disgrace to our family name ... :-( boo hoo hoo .........

But I am still a fucking happy person for some reason !!! HAHAHAHAHA Maybe its the women !!!!!! :)

Yeah man ... I don't mind being the driver man. I would feel highly previlaged to have these beautiful women sit in my car ... !!! Plus, if they are wearing sandals ... I get to steal glances at their feet when I stop at the lights ... :)

It's actually really hard to get a job in politics due largely to the hiring practices....it's all about nepitism

my friend works in queenspark...she was the only one who didn't get a job via nepitism

good luck with your job search

Thanks "wrong hole" ...

Now, would it help if I got everyone in the Privy Council a MP session, hooked Mr. Chretien up with the hottest SP I can find and suck on Adrianne Clarkson's toes ??? LOL

Oh shit, I still have the Cabinet to bribe ... hmmm ... how about I get them a MP session too ..... hehehe

Seriously man, the Public Service is suppose to be build on meritocracy man ... not nepotism ...

What's funny is this. I don't fall into any of Cruise's four categories because...well.... ummmm...I just didn't graduate, I mean not even from high school. BUT. My house is almost paid-off, I own a small business where 4 people work AND I can hobby as much as I want every week. I'm 34.

It's sad because education costs so much time and money, you get out of school with a fancy degree and then then real life begins.

C'mon, SMdave....... never say that. It's your life and you live it for you and yourself only, not your parents.

Just keep your options open, do whatever you want to achieve, and never stop trying. Do it for yourself.
Whatever you will achieve, your family will learn to be happy for you.
