All numbers/parameters have different meanings and outcomes.

Hospitalizations may be more important than ICU patients. Those are all beds being occupied and they have an impact on admissions for all types of conditions and surgeries. Not all surgeries are tied to ICU.

The number of infected is important as well.

Yet the numbers of unvaccinated still exceed the vaccinated in hospital or ICU despite the unvaccinated being only 23% of the population.

I follow the CBC app on my phone. Usually by 3pm the day numbers with cases, tests, hospitalization and ICU for the province are published. Under local news not the front page.

Don't forget there is a large portion of unknown status.

41 of the 154 in ICU have unknown vaccination status. That's 27% of all the patients. Better than the 40% they've been tracking at for a few weeks now.

Keep up with that conspiracy theory (and of course your linked source doesn't have your numbers on it).

For those interested in a rational discussion, Omicron is just hitting now so it will be a couple weeks until we see how it impacts hospitalizations.

Not sure what you're going on about, my link is directly to hospitalization and ICU numbers.
I love how everything that you disagree with is some sort of conspiracy theory. I'm stating a fact, 27% of the current patients in the ICU have unknown vaccination status according to this website.

Which says nothing about your "unknown" conspiracy.

The unvaccinated 10% of the population makes up almost 70% of people in ICUs and almost 60% in hospital.

Here is why it is not just all about ICU numbers.

I heard that about 450,000 elective surgical procedures have been postponed in Ontario today because of the strain on the health care system.

Fucking selfish anti-vaxxers negatively impacting on the health of other citizens. "D'uh!! It's my body and I can do what I want". I hope a loved one of each of you has been affected by this. Selfish POS's.

They most certainly do not. They are less than 50% of those in hospital (121/284 = 42.6%) and in the ICU (75 of 164 = 45.7%). What is it with you Liberals and your lack of math skills?

The 450K elective surgeries postponed today has zero to do with unvaccinated people. There is no strain on the health care system due to Covid, look at the damn numbers. They are no different than what they were 2 months ago.

You keep looking at the daily numbers, and ignoring the longer term reporting where they sort out the missing data. Why is that? You seem to want to stir up uncertainty.

Latest copy of this report which was pointed out to you before.

Figure 6 shows the rates of covid in the unvaccinated vs vaccinated. They show a grey band where the most recent numbers are suspect due to the reporting delay but the trend is very clear; the rates among the unvaccinated are much higher across the age groups. The unvaccinated will be overly represented in the hospital.

Absolutely it has to do with the unvaxxed. They are getting infected at 3 or 4 times the rate of the vaxxed. The unvaxxed are only about 15% of the pop. yet comprise about 50% of the cases and ICU beds.

Secondly, if there was no strain on the system currently, then they wouldn't have cancelled all those surgeries. Or maybe it's part of the bigger worldwide conspiracy to just make it look like there's a strain.

Cases precede hospitalizations by about 2 weeks. New cases are currently doubling every 3 or 4 days and you'll see a big rise in admissions in the next two weeks. That's why they're cancelling the surg's now.

So says the well known BASKETCASE . Such an appropriate handle- it would seem even you are well aware that you are a BASKETCASE.

“Unknown status” still almost only refers to patients who refuse or cannot provide evidence of vaccination status.

We know that none of the patients that get tested or arrive at a hospital with an Ontario health card would be counted as “Unknown status” if they were vaccinated in Ontario. .

Is there still a large number of people who got vaccinated outside of Ontario, refused to upload their vaccine record to the certificate portal, ignored their GP when they contacted rostered patients without a COVID vaccine record, AND don’t carry any evidence of their vaccine status?

Certainly not large enough to be 20-30% of our daily numbers for the past 5ish months.

Some arrive unconscious and/or without known ID. These would count in the “unknown” as well

“Unknown vaccine status” is almost totally reserved as a safe space for antivaxxer snowflakes who ‘prefer not to say’ because of medical privacy hang-ups.

I'm not stirring up anything I'm just pointing out that a significant portion of those patients in ICU have no vaccination status. At some points it was over 40% of the total.
I appreciate your report but it's comparing periods of time when our vaccination rates were low. I'd rather see the report from July 1 to present when the vast majority of the older population was fully vaccinated.

So what you're saying is that they are cancelling surgeries now in anticipation of the 10%-15% of our population who are unvaccinated (vast majority under 40) flooding hospitals in two weeks time because our case counts are so high. Got it. ;)
Let's see where we are in two weeks time.
