If he's lying, the Domi brothers are also lying. What are the penalties for bribing a public official (Dash)? and lying under oath (Tie)?

Of course he isn't telling the truth .Geez Toronto voters must be the most naive in the history of municipal politics .

Pete ....do you think that Tie and Dash are incapable of lying ? Tie can even rationalize it was for a noble cause .....protecting family .

I find his testimony very questionable, timing of his payment of AE $21,000 and Domi's withdrawal of $25,000 is no coincidence. He will testify again today, may the lawyer can reveal more in the inquiry.
The real question isn't whether he's lying (he took out a sworn affidavit stating that the money came from his father-in-law, but after an audit revealed otherwise, now says that his parents and grandparents gave it to him), but when is he going to stop lying?

I still find it absolutely amazing that he didn't drop out of the municipal election. Can you imagine how stupidly funny this would be if he had actually been elected mayor!?

Lies, Lies, Lies...

I saw him on TV this morning... I almost wanted to be sick. How many stories is he going to come up with? How can anybody be so stupid as to come up with all these different stories and think people will believe him? Now he says his grandmother gave him the money. They asked him did he not think it was strange that his grandma lives in subsidized housing and can afford to send him thousands of $$. He said no. HELLLLLLLO!

So here we have one of the sharpest pencils in City Council, now with what some of us lawyers call "selective amnesia," can't remember who gave him thousands of dollars so he makes up a different "guess" for each day of the week... and he can't even figure out where he is at when asked questions about it!

My inference is that he prepaid his holiday (who the hell does that when charging it to a credit card?) because he figured that it would/could not be traced!

(BTW, when you swear an affidavit you are not allowed some free guesses. You swear that what you are saying is "the whole truth so help me God.")

Yet he can clearly remember where he was not... City Hall when Domi came calling... And, not too long ago, both swore he was not on a plane to Philadelphia, either -- until the noose was feeling rather tight...

Is he lying?

Is the Pope Catholic?

Does he have chutzpah?

As a lawyer I choke to say it, but he is presumed innocent! :D

Yeah, the $25k question is not whether or not he is lying, it is whether anyone can prove it. Of course he's lying. Convicting him will be tougher.

This is not true. When you swear an affidavit you are swearing that the stuff above your affidavit is true, not that its "the whole truth".

Are you a commissioner for administering an oath or swearing affidavits?

Do you know what a lawyer goes through before drafting an affidavit for his client to swear?
