There was a study (British?) published about a year or perhaps two ago that found that frequency of ejaculation was the major determining factor. Seemingly carcinogens build up in the prostate and the more frequently they were “flushed” the less time they had to do damage.

Then I should never have come down with it. If your father had prostate cancer, get tested because you're certainly at greater risk for it. Something else I blame on my old man!! Grrrr!

As an aside and not to be morbid. The suicide rate is quite high in the first three months after diagnoses. Don't know why.

I don't recall that from the study JWM, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not surprised, as you mentioned, there is a strong genetic factor in a great many cancers.

I hope that your current prognosis is good!

I can see why the suicide rate might be elevated the first three months after surgery. I would have offed myself but my old man said he'd then disinherit me. Couldn't win for losing.
