What they gave up for Hicks. Both have been promoted to Triple-A Memphis, who begin a series at home to Jacksonville (Marlins) tomorrow.

That's what happens when your closer gets injured in a year that your team has a chance to make the playoffs and be the team that gets hot at the right time. A team doesn't know what the future years will bring and is forced to pay a higher price because they are desperate to not let this year's chance slip away by not doing anything.

Let’s take Shack for instance. Him and I have been friends for over 20 years and we have talked baseball since 2002. He supports Romano all the time…. I disagree, but we’re still friends at the end of the day.
There are ways to disagree with someone, but still be able to do it in a respectful way and not create animosity. TBH, it's not always a simple task.

Here's to you Buddy. The best agency in Toronto.(y)

Anyways, getting back to baseball. I love the Hicks deal. The guy has some fire …..how badly we needed a guy like this on the backend.

101mph 4 seamer and a good strikeout rate.
And Hicks topped out at 104.3 mph this season. If the Jays are in contention for a few years, I would love to see them be able to re-sign him. I really hope Pearson can also prove himself. I remember in 2021 Buck Martinez made a big deal about Nate’s follow-through and staying low…. What happened to that? He elevates the ball more now.

I don't think that they've given up on Nate. A lot of injuries that are not his fault and this year is the best he's looked in quite a while, even at the major league level.

He's only 25 and I think that their preference is still to have him be a starter. For now though, his value is out of the pen.

Is he a client? LOL.
I just edited my post because I truly don’t know about mono. Nothing to do with us. Lol.

I wonder how Nate got that. Poor guy lost an entire season because of it.

It could be just as simple as with his girlfriend. I think that transmission of mono is extremely easy.

Cant be good that he missed an entire season (or nearly or whatever it was) at such a young age. For sure a stump in his progress.

He got the job cause everyone loves the velo to end the game.
He doesnt have much when it comes to secondary......aside from a slider that is probably average.
If going by k/9 ; I'd go with Richards to close it. But chicks dig the velo.
Hopefully the acquisition of Hicks can change the bullpen regime.

Even when both pitches are on, good hitters are able to square up if they guess what he will throw. That being said, Romano is a good relief pitcher. He's just not an elite closer.
That’s a scary feeling. When you know he’s going to get hit and cough up the game. Those moments are too predictable as they unravel with him. Especially in tie games. Sadly, I’ve witnessed it live this season against the Red Sox. Literally hands over the game on a silver platter.

Hopefully Hicks is lights out.

That looked like a bit of a white knuckle close for the closer of the league leading Orioles. Should they be concerned?

I listened on radio broadcast MLB app in LA. What happened with that Oriole catch they were freaking out about?

And Ryu tomorrow. That will be interesting. Ok Jeff Blair is about to start. Let’s talk DH’ing Teoscar possibilities ….

The winning run came to the plate and the game was saved by an amazing catch. Not by the efforts of their closer.

As I said, it was an extreme white knuckle save.

I am comparing apples to apples, objectively.

On the tv broadcast tonight, they mentioned Hazel's Father passed away. That's why she's away, and probably why Barker is away.
