The bigger issue of course, is why she is so petty posting it online.....and secondly, why is she out cycling at 9:42 am on the taxpayer dime?

It is quite comical fmahovalich equates someone reading while driving may kill somebody while someone on a bike going through a stop sign is only a danger to themselves. I also agree that calling Karen Stints as a liberal is someone who doesn't know what he is talking about.
Yeah, this sort of thing really shows who the poster is. Not interested in what is really dangerous, just going for political points.

Sorry, but most drivers aren't a whole lot better. hogging the passing lane, cutting people off, speeding, aggressive driving, high beams on all the time, talking and texting, eating, ignoring stop signs, rolling stops, turns when they're forbidden (no left turn during rush hour, no right turn on red, no passing on solid yellow lines, etc. etc.
Yes. I agree that cyclists break a lot of rules, but so do drivers. Of these two groups, whose lawbreaking causes the greater harm?

She's trying to make a point about idiot law enforcement. I've seen a lot of cop cyclists breaking the rules - once riding on a sidewalk, probably because being on the road would mean that they would be going the wrong way on a one way. Not that I don't see cop cyclists doing that too. Regarding the time of day: as I recall, there have been several reports of Rob Ford showing up for work around noon, such as this one <http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/05/31/ring_down_the_curtain_on_mayor_rob_fords_spectacle_dimanno.html>

You being a Ford puppet, you of all people should know why since Ford is constantly on the football field during football season on the taxpayer dime when he should be in the office, although I recognize that won't be an issue any longer, lol.

Seems that Karen, riding her bicycle, decided to break the law today and disobeyed a stop sign. She was suitably charged by the Police! Wonder if she did it to gain sympathy for her Mayoral run!

The Liberals want their bikes....but they can't break the law as well :)

Funny how the media jumped all over Ford back in the day when he was caught reading in a car. It was suggested he needed this, needed that, needed a driver. Etc etc etc. The Liberal media was all over him.

Not a peep on the Stintz matter!
You were seven hours later than the first TERB thread on this. Too bad that lag-time didn't reflect research on the event or sober reflection on its insignificance.

The ticket says she was S/B on Duplex Ave at Berwick. Google Streetview doesn't show a Stop sign there, as she says.

If there isn't any difference, why do we have both?
If you don't know, then maybe you shouldn't be driving? I also didn't say, 'there isn't any different'.

Stop signs are meant as a minor way of controlling traffic flow, especially at minor intersections where lengthy full stops aren't needed. Without them you'd have multiple vehicles and bikes at an intersection going through the intersection saying thinking/feeling they got the right of way and going through intersection at the same time. At least with a stop sign you have that moment more to pause and think.Exactly how much time are you saving in 4km trip by being given rolling stops. Are you that much in a hurry in your day that you need that little time time for whatever.

Since she's none of the above, what code are you referring to?
she is chair of the TTC

so he broke 2 unwritten codes

no minor tickets to

politicians and no minor tickets to TTC drivers or TTC management

also

no minor tickets to ambulance drivers

no minor tickets to fire men

also no tickets ever (even if they drive drunk ) to a fellow cop or even a retired one

the fellow cop one is taken seriously the others more casually

membership has its privileges

i would suspect

ticketing someone famous (other than the above) or a hells angel gets u bragging rights

unsure about made mafia

I wish I had a dime for every time I've been out driving and had a cyclist disobey the rules of the road.
... Or a car driver. This is the cycling equivalent of an under 10 over the limit speeding ticket.

This is not blowing through a stop sign this is slowing down looking around and proceeding when safe but failing to put a foot down.

It is a bad law.

At least she rides a bike :thumb:

Say, compared to a certain embarrassingly over-weight Mayor that quit that "weight challenge" thing

You would think our duly elected representatives would know better!
You have your tongue so far up Ford's ass that you are rejoicing that one of his political "opposents" got a ticket for not coming to a full stop while cycling? Really? This is not news, it's completely and utterly irrelevant. The only people who care are people like you - so committed to Ford that you jump on anything remotely negative about any politican who disagrees with the Mayor. If you think that Stintz ticket is so important, why are you not howling for Ford to be removed because of his, much more serious, past traffic offense?

In any case, since you were never going to vote for Stintz, your opinion about her traffic ticket is irrelevant.
