Leafs did what needed to be done, but I think they gave a lot away to get Leetch.shredder said:My goodness...everyone was ready to give away the farm and then some for Gonchar and yet two prospects and a couple of low draft picks are too expensive for Leetch?
I agree....way to much for a 36 year old dinosaur. I don't think another offensive defencmen is what the Leafs needed.scubadoo said:Leafs did what needed to be done, but I think they gave a lot away to get Leetch.
I wouldn't consider a first and second round draft pick a low draft pick. If it was a 4th and 5th round draft pick you could call it a low draft pick.
I was referring to the placing in the first round but I understand the concerns. The Leafs are thin with draft picks anyway so giving more away is bad regardless. Given the nature of our market and the fact that the Leafs are a rich team, I don't think we'll ever be the clear winner in trades, but I like who we got, a proven player with Cup experiencein exchange for prospects and speculation.scubadoo said:Leafs did what needed to be done, but I think they gave a lot away to get Leetch.

In Detroit, we call a 36 year old "kid". I don't think the Leafs are done yet. Good move for the Blue.Double J said:I agree....way to much for a 36 year old dinosaur.
Correct you are Cnd-Guy. But at some point the players on the Rangers talent laden team have to take responsibility for their play. Can't go on and blame someone else for the teams crap play.Cnd-Guy said:everybody on Rangers is a minus.
Amen to that, hopefully some people will be eating their words soon.PDL007 said:TIME WILL ONLY TELL.

Leetch is a more complete player than Gonchar is and his salary is lower too.
