When Brad Treliving was hired as Leafs GM, I had a Sergeant Stedenko reaction. He's managed to do what artsy-fartsy Kyle Dubas couldn't - he fixed the defense. I was shocked when they picked up Brendan Carlo.

The playoffs are a long and grueling road, Leafs must play Lamaire style trap hockey to get more rest. I didn't know Chris Cuthbert was doing the play by play, I'm loyal to The National Treasure.

Cuthbert is the absolute worst announcer, EFFIN horrible. and simpson the LEAF lover is just as bad, never EVER shuts up.

Nylander better pick up his game, or Berube will sit him and put in Robertson.
Your sarcasm tells me you’re pissed that your favourite Leafs got criticized for taking dumb penalties when the team won, but the reality is this series is actually closer than the 3-0 series lead indicates. The first loss for the Sens was primarily due to dumb penalties and it couldn’t be any closer than going into ot in the next two. The Sens seemed to have learned a lesson and then it was the Leafs started to take the dumb and careless penalties, Robertson and Nylander the culprits. The 4th win is always the hardest and if the Leafs don’t stop taking these stupid penalties they may lose that momentum very quickly. Even if they win this series despite these dumb penaltie, they will not survive in the next round.

I actually like them both  - but half the time I don't even pay attention what they are saying as I'm so into the game and have had a few.

Sens win...Sens Win!!

Leafs were the better team tonight I must admit...Ottawa got away with a few penalties as well. Hope Tavares is okay.

Toronto has one killer of a power play. They were toying with the Sens at some times.

The difference is, other than game one, the Sens penalties were taken while in physical puck battles. I can live with that. The dumb penalties the Leafs took the last three games were where the puck was nowhere near. Robertson, Nylander and now Domi. The bad penalties are usually the ones that would end up in your net, and it happened to all three the Leafs took.

Game 4 was probably the first game where the Leafs outshot and out chanced the Sens. Yet they lost. But I'm ok with that gotta give the Ottawa fans something to cheer about. This series is likely over in 5.

On the highway of life
The Marlies were eliminated yesterday, so it's likely Hideby, Murray, Steeves, Abruzzese get to be Black Aces.
Alex Nylander left yesterday's game with an injury.

Leafs lost because of special teams, PK and PP. 4 minutes of PP time in OT and Berube used Rielly instead of another forward like McMann. Probably for fear of getting another short handed goal against at that stage.
Rielly on the PP has never worked in previous playoffs.

The more games the more risk of injury. Tavares could get another concussion.

Berube on Nylander:
"Willy’s a competitor. He loves to score goals, we know that. You look at the game last night as the game got ramped up, he got ramped up. I thought he was highly competitive in the game and he did a lot of great things. I know he made a lot of great plays and goals, but with the puck battles and the second and third effort he showed in the game last night was exceptional.”

In series clinching games 13 played:
Matthews 4 goals 8 pts
Marner 0 goals 6 pts
Nylander 2 goals 13 pts

I agree with what Berube said about Nylander. He’s been excellent and the one mistake he made didn’t cost the Leafs. Knies has also been great but McMann needs to be put back on the second line to make an impact. He’ll make that line more dangerous 5 on 5. He was back there briefly in the 3rd period and I hope we’ll see him there full time. For the 4minute pp OEL would have been my choice over Rielly.

Sadly that day won't be coming for a while. I miss the aesthetic of the Nordiques, and the Habs-Nords rivalry, so much.
Those were great games to watch. I still go back and watch them on YouTube sometime. I loved seeing the habs lose to Quebec

Ullmark living up to the big contract tonight...Needs to do this for two more games though and that's a big ask.

Man I've never seen that arena clear out so fast.

Just when you think it couldn't get any lower. Imagine if they lose the series after winning the first 3 games.
Game 7 Saturday May 3rd. Book it.
