Here and there
Can we get Jack Palance to say "Leaf fans" with the same mixture of amusement and disgust as he used when he said "city folk" in City Slickers??

Just wondering... ;)

First off HoldenMagroin the comment by Leaf_Fan321 was not directed at me but Salisbury Steak.

Second my comment was directed at a hockey team, not a TERB member, and it was not rude or demeaning it was constructive criticism, but thanx for your input i appreciate it.

HOW ABOUT THOSE CANUCKS SQUEACKING BY THE SENATORS 3-2 IN OVERTIME. That was a great game. Charo should have had the win for Ottawa in OT, but Clouts came out big.

This was a well played game with Ottawa having better part of the play....escpecially in OT.....2 goals in 51 seconds...dang they can score when the crunch is on. I have always had respect for the Senators, and one day the will hoist the CUP. Hopefully after the Canucks.:) --- Kev

when is name calling Constructive Criticism? ya ok whatever makes you feel better. doesnt matter who it was directed at...you asked him not to make rude comments...which he did....you made them too no matter if they were at a person or a team ,they were offensive and you knew they were made to piss some people off...otherwise why would a guy from Vancouver come to a TO site and make a snotty comment to this board about the Leafs. To stir up shit....there ya go! Hows Perb these days? Must be boring
.

Its all good at PERB thanx for asking.

Kev is hurt by the reality of the truth. What will i tell mom?

Kev wants to appolize to all the Toronto Maple Leaf for my rude and demeaning comments.

Kev wants to thank HoldenMagroin for putting him on the straight and narrow.

I am going to put HoldenMargroin on my Christmas Gift List. What would you like? How about a big screen TV? or a new car? I got it a gangbang with the Olsen twins. Ask and you shall recieve. Your friend --- Kev

Still God's team..................the Toronto Maple Leafs!

I love this stuff!!!

Guys come on this board and try to slag the beloved Blue and White to no avail. It's a source of never-ending amusement to me to watch them try to justify the existence of their paltry pseudo-expansion teams while criticizing ours. The Leafs are undeniably the most popular team in the NHL. Just check out the number of Leaf sweaters next time we stroll into your barns.
I would have a lot more respect for all of the naysayer's opinions if they came from fans whose teams had actually won something though. But Vancouver and Ottawa? Give me a break. Win something and then talk. At least then you'll have a little cred.
To watch your teams' blow their wads during the regular season and then prematurely ejaculate in the playoffs is getting a little old. (not to mention sad)
It's also kind of interesting to note that both of your teams have felt compelled to sign former members of the great Leaf organization to either Assistant or Head Coaching positions. (Crawford and the late great Roger Neilson to name a couple)
Hockey will always be Canada's game and the Leafs will always be Canada's team.

Note to Kevs................better put down the bong and give the stinkweed a rest. It's starting to cloud your judgement. SAY NO TO DRUGS!

Craven.

Craven Morasian your a funny man. THE LEAFS MOST POPULAR TEAM IN THE NHL. ROTFLOL Another TERB member that needs his head looked at.

Travell to Florida they have never heard of Toronto or Vancouver or Canada for that matter. The term hockey means a large wooden object stuck up someones ass. There advice "Take two of these and call me in the morning."

Talking about having ex-staff to a home team, for the Leafs you have a "bin der dun dat" Pat Quinn, aka xxxxxxxxxxx coach of the Canucks. He is the biggest down fall to the Leafs lack of success. IMHO

Yes CM you do have the luxury to say ya 60 years ago we one the cup. (or whatever it is) Big effeing deal. Its always what have you done for me lately. As far as the Leafs go nothing....zip zero nada.....nothing. SS has already posted those stats.

Craven Morasian you keep hanging on to the "DREAM" if it keeps you going, more power to you.

Second of all i am completely deviasted that because i live out west, and the best pot is grown here, you would imply that i was a dopper. I am not a dopper, and do not partake in taking illegal drugs. I am a law abiding citizen of Canada and abide by all the laws of Canada like all members or TERB. :D Mod i am being attacked here, what can be done? LOL You have a nice weekend, and pray there is a God so the Senators will make it swift and quick against the Leafs. I see no need for more embarrassment than needed. --- Kev

How much weight does the opinions of someone whose team hasn't even be to the Stanley Cup since 1967 carry. Even though Vancouver hasn't won the cup yet we've at least come close a couple times in recent history.

As for hiring people who have former ties to the Maple Leafs, imagine that hockey clubs hiring people that have experience with other teams, how unusual. Who was it that fired Pat Quinn before Toronto snapped him up, hmmm thats a stumper.

Its true that Roger Neilson coached a couple seasons before he came to Vancouver but he also coached in Buffalo and several teams after Vancouver. However if you want to note Marc Crawford, you should also note that his association with Vancouver began long before his association with Toronto. Why was it that Toronto chose someone who had spent his entire career with the Vancouver Canucks, including the 1982 run to the Stanley Cup finals as the Head coach of their farm team.

Since when was the Stanley Cup awarded for popularity?

The Cubs and the Red Sox are very popular in their own right, but that doesn't make them good teams (last year's results withstanding).

A lot of hockey fans were forced, when they were growing up, to follow the Leafs by the CBC. Hockey Night in Canada used to carry the Leafs games from BC to Ontario, and in the Maritimes while Radio-Canada pushed the Canadiens. The fact that most of these people have been brain-washed into thinking the Leafs are the best team in Canada is laughable.

Those of us who actually follow hockey without kowtowing to the propaganda can see that most of the other Canadian teams are much better managed/much better skilled than the Leafs. Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal and Ottawa all have had more success in recent history than the Leafs. You can't argue that.

Is Ottawa the best team in the NHL? The points sure don't show it now. I'll be the first to admit that. But I do believe that they have the depth and potential to be virtually unbeatable.

Do the Leafs have what it takes to make it all the way this year? Maybe. But they're relying on older players who are on the down-slope of their careers. They're relying on a coach who's obviously been manipulating the ownership for his own gain. If they pick up more players like Stajan, if they get rid of Quinn, maybe they will make it. Who knows.

It's going to be an interesting season. Good luck to them tonight as well.

Most laughed at team in Canada, I agree there. Your team is a joke, with one the biggest payrolls in the league, the Laffs are stacked, that is stacked with aging overpaid underachievers. The Loafes haven’t gone farther than Ottawa (conference final) or Vancouver (SC finals) in 37 years !, the only original six team not to have won their conference since the league first expanded!

I hear the Leafs just signed Borje Salming on defense...

They want to get a bit younger.

It got to be a joke when Craven Morasian referred to the Leafs as "God's team".

Should be a good game tonight. Good luck to the Leafs, keep your stick on the ice!

Always God's team...........the Toronto Maple Leafs

I actually figured I was done with this thread. But then I realized that the good guys are now 6-0 since Kevvers started the ball rolling by slagging the Good Lord's team.
(including of course a thorough back to back pasting of the rather stale looking K-nucks)
And Goober..........the joke actually began when The Kev came on a Toronto board and insulted this city's hockey team. He obviously knew that would get a response. What I'm sure he didn't expect was that it would correspond with a winning streak by the Blue 'n' White and 2 wins over his team. (irony?)
You're OK though Goober. You like your team and I like mine. I chuckled when you referred to Leaf fans and their lack of common sense. You are absolutely right. We have very little of that. But what we do have more than any other NHL team's fans is loyaltly. Pure unabashed unadulterated loyalty. Blind loyalty perhaps.......but loyalty nonetheless. We in the Leaf Nation demand it of ourselves and nothing less will do. Only true Leaf fans get it though.........so all you Leaf-haters shouldn't be too hard on yourselves if you can't relate.
So keep the insults coming fellas. It just might have something to do with our current success. It's either that or I guess we're just lucky, right? LOL

Note to Steak: Put down that Official Toronto Maple Leafs fact guide. You're spending too much time reading something you shouldn't.

Craven.
