I've ben self employed since then I took a gamble started a service which at the time there were only 6 people in all of Ontario doing and did well. In short did my homework put it all on the line and made. Now there a lot more who do it and it's not specialized and more dog eat dog. I got out when the time was right, put my money on the line again and am doing fine, loving my work and gliding in to my golden years. Much of what I can say to you in response, I've already said to pekkerhead. i've known my share of people who've lost their jobs to third world economies, but a good number of them don't whine as the writing was on the wall, they do their homework, take their swing and connect or not. Then they do it again. In between they drive cabs, serve table or mop floors, but they dig in and keep going. Not much of this 'they/you owe me' shite.

If you read my post you wouldn't have called me a "blowhart" lol. I have my own business and employee people. I treat them well with my lowest salary over 50K. I'm glad the culture of entitlement is alive and well though. You should use that energy to lobby for increased corporate taxes (and then see more businesses leave). I think everyone should be able to make a living unless you are mentally or physically incapable, in which case you should be supported properly through government programs. This isn't an easy enough question to just peg people as corporate apologists. But on the other hand I am very wary of certain (not all) unions and their approach to employment. If they run the employer out of business, those jobs don't exist - then where are you. The most astonishing example of union entitlement is in the public sector though, where there is never the threat of going out of business, so now teachers make over a 100K when you factor in their pensions etc etc etc. Ontario and Canada do not have a revenue problem, they have a spending problem, much of which is in the "artificial job industry" - government employment.

Did I sit on my ass?...No I found another job, Do I whine about it?..Yeah I,m pissed at unfair trade practices and our government doing nothing. I like Obamas "buy America" slogan. So when I go to buy food or a car or anything, I will try to buy CANADA first!!,,,Why should I support jobs in other countries that dont buy our products?
