Is it just me or does anybody else not bother to read posts more than 7-10 lines. If there written by one of the girls I may because there aren't many girls on here, but by a guy I usually pass write on by or read a few lines, get bored, then move on. I think most people do this because most peoples behaviors are the same. There are too many to read to bother with long ones. Threads can be longer, but posts, yawn. Bash me as much as you want, just keep 'em short.;)

I admit that I usually pass over the long posts. It depends on the author.

If the post is long and difficult to read because of really bad grammer and poor punctuation and no capitals, I definately pass.

Depends. Most of the time I just go to next poster.

Some longer posts are cool like Pritty Kitten and leah_mpa.

Yes, I agree it depends on the poster. Usually just give the writer two senteces to hook me in, otherwise I'm gone.
It's amazing how many people go off on 2,000 words of boring drivel.

I agree, totally keep your posts short and to the point. I couldn't agree more, no more ling meandering replies. Brevity is the soul of wit. I mean who has time to read long posts. Time is of the esscence. If you cant post something in a few lines or less it probalbly is worh posting. Who wants to read a bunch of blah blah blah.
You are a wanker. Is that enough brevity?

A lot of threads over 10 posts are the result of the ever popular flame war.

Oh my! Somebody hide this thread from PHNINE!

Posts should be generally concise, and brief, on that we agree; however not long ago gay7 critiqued a review for being too long, or not brief/short/concise enough for him. That is bollocks, since guy7 is neither paying for the reviewer's cost of the visit, or the time spent to write the review.

The whole point of posting is to have it read. It's a known fact you only have a few lines to catch someones attn. Why bother posting a long statement if most don't read it.

I think it is funny we can sit and read thread after thread or spend hours on Terb just to read posts but when we see a long post we skip it. I'm guilty or reading the first sentence or two of a long post and then just a random one in the middle and then the last one to sum it all up myself. If I find the first two sentences boring I will just move on.

Opposite Complaint

Nobody likes a long post that tells you nothing useful, but a short post that provides no information is just as bad. There are plenty of short reviews that say no more than "YMMV" or "she was classy". Waste of bandwidth.

Extra marks are available for entertainment value or style, but passing on some useful information is necessary for a passing grade.
