Isn't that the opposite of permanent DST? With permanent DST it stays light an hour later in the evening, and sunrise comes an hour later in the morning, as opposed to Standard Time.I have in the past lived 3 years in Queensland Australia, where no DST.
Sun sets most nights 6:30 to 7, and nearer the equator so no slow sunset.
Birds start to sing at 3:30 in the morning as the sun rises in the summer.
So be careful what you wish for.

People can and do adapt to that. We're not sticking people in a submarine with no sunlight at all for months. With permanent Daylight Saving Time it will be dark past 9:00 AM in the winter months. People will be going to work and kids will be going to school while it's still dark.
Sun sets at 7:22 PM tonight. I'm all for keeping DST as we're in now, all year...Still light t 7PM to-night. Fantastic!
The kids can play shinny for an extra 1/2 hour. Great! Otherwise they would sit on their bum and play computer games inside.Sun sets at 7:22 PM tonight. I'm all for keeping DST as we're in now, all year...
There are very loud birds in that climate; Kookaburra is the loudest that springs to mind. What do conditions in Australia have to do with us exactly? If you can hear birds from your place at 3:30 am, then you basically have zero insulation.
