It may well just be BS gossip, but I heard it from a friend of friend of a friend of Steve Simmons of the Sun.

If McCabe is still out by the time they play NJ on November 2nd, the story may come out then in the mainstream media.
even if was from Steve Simmons himself it doesnt mean its true. TO media is what makes creates all the shit in this city. They dont report news they try to create it and stir the pot. Steve Simmons is one of the worst offenders

well well well, isn't this a change from previous years. everyone went from treating this man as a saint to a bum.

I reaffirm my belief that all maple leaf fans should be either spayed or neutered :D

since when was he a saint?

it was your fellow terbites that said JFJr should tell McCabe to stick it when he wanted more $ or go to The Islanders.

Gamache is the type of player that Maurice loves to bring along. Guys who might not be talented as others, but whose motor just keeps running all the time. Pohl, I have not watched him as much to comment.

I think we are seeing of Maurice's type of players come to the forefront, and this team is slowly being stamped with Maurice's signature.

Boy, there were times in that game when Jason Blake looked amazing out there. I like to watch him play and he is only going to get better as him, Sundin, and Andropov gel

There was a powerplay when they moved the puck around so sweetly, I was screaming at the television with joy... It was only then, when I looked for McCabe to give him some credit, that I noticed that he was not playing...
I think it was on the Kaberle goal...But that was something to watch.

I also was screaming at Gamache at the end of the game... they were putting severe pressure on Pittsburgh, and he takes a crappy holding penalty in the frigging offensive zone...

Kubina.. I think actually played pretty well... Was he paired with Kaberle?

I was scratching my head when they signed McCabe's contract. But in a way, I was happy that they had locked him up for a few years.

Leafs are a strange team thus far...lead the league in goals AND goals against, yet their PP is atrocious.
that's easy to explain. unconfident defencemen on the points... miss way too many opportunities to hold the blueline and find or create plays during the PP.

the Toronto Maple Leafs lead the NHL so far with scoring on the attack. last year the Penguins led that degree.

Win or lose it makes for exciting hockey. though, I don't expect much from Toronto, they are entertaining to watch. just as I enjoy watching Pittsburgh and San Jose

Somehow the good doc senses a disturbance in the force field. No matter how bad or how good McCabe sucks, the Leafs are going to make the playoffs, probably in place of the headless chicken team called the Sabres. How the mighty has fallen!!! Courtesy of their moronic managing partner and general manager. Hope the Leafs play the mighty Senators tough in the playoffs.

I hope the real Sabres... the ones that dawn the uniforms get their act together... they still got the talent and there is alot of hockey left.

It does look like the young Sabres are struggling to find their identity. Hockey is a team sport. Once they figure that out and get their acts together, they should be able to win many games and probably go to playoffs if it is not too late. If so, McCabe better suck gigantic time and costs the Leafs a playoff berth. *Wink, wink* Ohhh...., holy Zeus, the good doc just committed a sin againist Kathleen darling. :p

McCabe is 2nd in Power Play goals for D-men, though.

Big deal. Personal stats don't show up in team standings. Its observations like this that get the big bucks for the under achievers.

2-0 without McCabe and Tucker, two of the under-performed veterans that Leafs can do without. Winning both games aside, they actually played better both defensively and offensively and won both games convincingly giving up only 1 goal each and scoring 4 and 5 goals respectively.

With the insertions of the youngsters like Tlusty, Gamache etc., Leafs is a significantly speedier team and a lot more fun to watch, at both ends of the rink. This goes to prove that speed is the name of the name in today's NHL. If John F could trade McCabe and Tucker to free up some $10 million + in salary cab for better talents, the Leafs will be a much better team.

They couldn't give McCabe away for free.
Nobody in their right mind would pick him up with his contract.
At least McCabe has finally found a way to help the team.

Getting rid of a player is easy... big contract or no big contract. This would not be the first time that a team has agreed to pay large parts of a traded players contract. The difficult part is getting something (other than a bag of hammers) back for him...

and yes... i know alot of you would trade him for a couple of pylons... but a D-man that can score should be worth something...
