Guinness World Record for Broken Tax Promise:
McGuinty and Broten's New TV Tax

Toronto: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) responded today to reports that Environment Minister Laurel Broten is planning a new tax on the purchase of televisions, computers, and printers. CTF Ontario Director Kevin Gaudet said, "Premier McGuinty should apply to the Guinness World Book of Records for the fastest broken political promise. Only ten days ago he promised not to raise taxes in Ontario if reelected."

Minister Broten is reported today in the Toronto Star to be planning to impose a new fee on the purchase of televisions, computers and printers. The Minister reportedly says the fees will go to recycling programs for the electronic devices and that programs will be modeled on programs from Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Ten days ago, on Saturday June 3rd, Premier McGuinty promised not to raise taxes saying, "you can trust me because I am in charge". Prior to the last election, as Liberal Party leader, Mr. McGuinty signed the Taxpayer Protection Promise in which he promised not to raise taxes or if he was going to raise taxes to hold a referendum. He broke the promise by introducing the Health Tax and by giving the City of Toronto new taxing powers.

"The Premier has a successful track record on breaking promises, especially promises not to raise taxes. With this new promise and his skill at promise breaking, I think he might be eligible for the record", said Gaudet.

Big surprise.

I will say this about McGuinty, he's a consistent liar.

But he loves big unions and their block votes. Todays scam announcement is just a 650Million dollar payoff to buzz and the boys.

Their love of spending money is endless.

I would have thought Buzz would be supporting Hampton. Wasn't the support of Martin a one time thing?

More bad news

Mayor Miller, our socialist idiot leader has decided to impose new "revenue tools".

During public consultations, he suggested $40 extra per year per vehicle registered in Toronto. Now he is going after $60. This will be on top of the $75 the province charges. But he is not finished yet. He wants to put a 5% tax on booze sold in Toronto. An extra 5% on any bottle out of the LCBO or brewers retail.

Does it end there? No. A sliding land transfer tax of between .5% and 2% depending upon property value. The more money the property is worth, the larger the hit.

Liberals are tax and spend. Miller is spend and tax.

I get the idea that Miller wants people and businesses to move out of Toronto.

McGuinty speaks like any other slick/slimy salesman. He will say whatever he thinks people want to hear to make the sale. The problem is, most people buy this sales tactic, over and over again.

It's always the electorate's fault. Always.

Blame McGimpy all you want, but it's the brain-dead ontario electorate that wants to hear the lies, or 'campaigne spending commitments'.

We want the goodies, but hope that someone else actually has to end up paying for it. In other words, people here want "something", and yet are two-faced enough to expect someone else to pay for it through the coercive powers of the state.
Pathetic.

Say anything you want, and give the appearance that you give a SH!T

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE McGimpy has failed to close any "new" coalfired generation plants (the one they did close and level was pre planned from the previous Eaves Gov't. Now we are waiting for 2014 to close the rest. McGimpy has given money for nothing several times now. Trillium overhaul, OLGC overhaul, money to GM to keep a set minimum plus one employed, to keep themselves qualified for the Gov't handout, and now this to name a few.

GM et all should be building "green" cars without any incentives. Why give more money to a company already going done the toilet? Mind you, Bucky Beaver May wants to change the whole political landscape, while she is sucking both Dion's dick and McGimpy's as she leads the biggest farse of a party in Canada. Everyone, let's promise them the moon, and when things are done, you will wake up to realize you got burnt by the sun.

McGimpy has seen the light, and says he scrapped his Ottawa gas powered lawn mower for an electric model. So where does he think the electrons come from. No doubt he thinks they are CO2 free. Oh yah, and his non motorized push mower for the city. Seems he will be adding to his Queens Park CO2 emissions by pushing a manual mower.

And … never forget that Lying McGuinty and Lying Tory—well he hasn't actually been in office to break his unkeepable promises yet, but that's a mere technicality, he's a pro, we can trust him—both rushed through big pay raises for themselves last winter. Can you think of anything they did for you?

When you're thinkin' about voting why not pick someone who hasn't had a chance yet; they may not be better, but how could they be worse?
