A Bridge Too Far...

I tried to find one with subtitles, because much of the dialogue was in German and Dutch, so lacking that I suspect I missed some important elements.

A huge all star cast and amazing scenes... the parachute scenes were incredible.

The Italian Job

There are TWO versions of this story, 1969 and 2003.

The 2003 film is NOT a Michael Caine movies. It stars Donald Sutherland, Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, Chalize Theron.
I just finished watching this one, hoping to see Charlize naked, but no such luck.

So, now onward to the 1969 version.
You must be young to not know that the new version doesn't include Michael Caine.

But I'm glad you're learning and enjoying these movies.

I am not young.. 68... I stopped the Michael Caine showings temporarily to watch the new version, for pure entertainment's sake... plus it had Charlize in it. :D

My favorite Michael Caine film is this interview with Michael Parkinson. Billy Connelly is along for the ride.

Austin Powers - Goldmember--- nope, nope NOPE! I watched the first 10 minutes and stopped. I cannot stand Mike Myers!

I dunno maybe I'm too old to appreciate that type of humour.

Anyhow, I hated it

The Battle of Britain - Michael Caine had only a small part in this movie, so it only barely qualifies for the Michael Caine Film Festival.
The film was good... lots of flying fighter action, some great scenes of London. An interesting portrayal of the Battle of Britain.

If you can find it watch Mandela and de Klerk a TV Film from 1997.

It's a factual account of the transition of power from apartheid in South Africa. Sidney Portier plays Mabida and Caine plays F.W de Klerk. It's worth your time.

Actually it's on YouTube:

Blame it On Rio... Not a bad film, not great... the best thing about this film is the topless women. The beach scene in Rio was amazing.

Michelle Johnson, age 19 at the time this move was shot in 1984, got topless a lot and she has great breasts. Demi Moore shows up topless in one scene, but with long hair obscuring her little boobies.

Michael Caine is the star of this film and does well, acting a familiar role of the seducer, although, to be fair, in this film he's the seducee.

my rating 5/10
topless addition 1/10

total 6/10

The Ipcress File established Michael Caine as a serious actor. It also did the same for his Zulu co-star Nigel Green. Green gained fame as Hercules in Jason and the Argonauts - a film that made a lot of money and a huge ripple effect. Tragically just as he was beginning to hit his stride green passed away at age 47. Much too young!

According to his bio he went out like Heath Ledger.
