A Bridge Too Far...

I tried to find one with subtitles, because much of the dialogue was in German and Dutch, so lacking that I suspect I missed some important elements.

A huge all star cast and amazing scenes... the parachute scenes were incredible.

Sir Michael portrays Brigadier John Ormsby Evelyn 'JOE' Vandeleur, DSO (Then Lieutenant Colonel Irish Guards [Guards Armoured Division]) One of the bridges over the Maas–Scheldt Canal right about where Operation Garden kicked-off is named after him.

Reflecting the person he was, his gravestone simply reads:

J.O.E. V 1903 - 1988
Once an Irish Guardsman

Just watched The Ipcress File.... a typical 60's spy story, mind control, betrayal, etc...

I liked it

The Ipcress File and Funeral In Berlin, two great spy movies.
The Wrong Box, a very funny comedy. Caine is very good at comedy.

Not to steel this thread but I believe Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was a remake of A Bedtime Story with David Niven, Marlon Brando and Shirley Jones 1964. It was pretty good then too.
