So you don't support Bush who is on the right and you claim that I'm a liberal.
And you are???????
I am neither Liberal nor Conservative. I prefer to reach my conclusions on the basis of sound, non partisan reflection.

You should try it sometime.

I couldn't help but notice you left Kennedy out of the debate on Vietnam.

As for Eisenhower. I would argue that his conduct in Europe during WW2 saved many lives.
LOL !!!!
That's because Ike left JFK out of what was happening in Nam!!!!!!
JFK was completely blindsided about Nam when JFK became POTUS.
It wasn't till 1960 that JFK learned the extent of US involvment in Nam.
You know how the GOP likes to 'hide things from us', well they hid it from JFK and us also..........;)

Woody,

You need to cut back on the Michael Moore propaganda, it's clouding your.....er.........judgement, for lack of a better word.

Cut back on the MM letters and try reading a history book every now and again.

Kennedy was a staunch believer in the domino effect and supported the initial involvement in Vietnam. He was the one who trippled the amount of military advisors there in the early part of 1961.

I'm still relatively new here and learning the ins and outs of the forums.
So searching not really an option for me, or something I would want to do.
I went buy your indirect attack of the left.
Follow my advice and I'll follow my own advice and things should be fine.
Me coo coo?
Well possibly, I keep hearing that from my friends, but I don't think it's true. :)

I'll save you the trouble of searching. I think Bush is just barely above retardation.

I was not attacking the left, directly or indirectly. I thought I made it clear I believe there is both good and bad on all sides of the political spectrum.

Neither Michael Moore nor George Bush represent the good of their respective sides.

Woody,

Take a deep breath and collect yourself. Your lack of historical knowledge and grand standing is frankly, making you look foolish.

Eisenhower had his shortcomings as President (Iran) but his leadership of the European theatre of WWII cannot be faulted. No one else could have managed the polyglot of megaegos known as Allied command like he did. Without Ike, Hitler would have had enough time to affix nuclear warheads to his V1 rockets, or the Soviet Red Army would have gotten to them first.

Spellcheck is your friend. I think you were trying to say "hemorrhagic cyst"? Other than that, you're spot on.

Quoting a leftwing nutjob who cherry-picks his facts in support of his liberal agenda is very convincing. He makes for good comedy, but unless you are incapable of forumlating your own arguments for why you disagree with Dubya, using Michael Moore as your intellectual reference on political debate is sort of like asking Kate Moss for nutritional advice.

Good strategy. Save that brain of yours, let someone else do your thinking for you!

I'd agree with him, at least in the way that the modern label of liberal applies. The insult "liberal" applies in the same way that the insult "neocon" works. When applied properly, they are meant to insult people who only see things in a polarized political climate, not as individual issues, and people who accept arguements that support their view, regardless of rational evidence. These people used to be called dim-witted, simpleminded, or dolts.

You stated that he was a Bush supporter because you disagreed with his point. A "neocon" would disagree with you as a matter of principle. The rest of us might have some opinions in common with "liberals" and some opinions in common with "neocons."

If you insist on condeming people to a specific category, don't be surprised when the same happens to you.

Can you imagine GWB give a speech the likes of the
Gettysburg Address?
It's interesting how time changes perception.

Edward Everett droned on for over 2 hours at the Gettysburg ceremony. Lincoln followed and was critisized for having such a weak speech compared to Everett's.

Today, Lincoln's Gettysburg address is considered one of the greatest speeches in American history.

150 years from now, I'm certain none of GWB's oratary gems will reach such distinction.

Better yet, you should follow that advice.
My historical knowledge is spot on, I used to teach American History many many moons ago and still consider myself a student of history. It's your appalling grasp of revisionist history that is suspect.
Suggest your read a good history text to find out what really happened to bring about the Nam Debacle.
It was a classic case of the MIC using fear mongering against the commies to line their pockets.
Update to today, to our retarded POTUS Dubya and you see the same thing played out all over again. Only now the MIC uses fear mongering against terrorism to line their pockets yet again.....:(

You were a history teacher?

It must have been an interesting class when you were talking about Vietnam. Considering you jumped from Ike to Johnson on the troop escalation issue, how did you explain the 1000 days of the Kennedy administration?

Skippy,
How about you review this thread.
BTW, do you happen to work for K Rove?
It was YOU that went from MM to LBJ as a retort as to which side had the bigger idiots.

Is that so?

I have 3 words for you.

Lyndon Baines Johnson

.....As if LBJ was responsible for NAM.

To which I replied:
Well I will counter that with 3 words for you.

Dwight David Eisenhower!

It was Ike, in fact, who got the US into that Viet Nam Debacle in the first place. LBJ just 'carried on' what Ike started.

Funny thing it was Ike who warned us about the MIC.
Ike knew first hand what these bastards in the MIC were capable of.
Cheney/Dubya, lacking any conscience, just do the bidding of the MIC....

It was here your 'fallback' retort was to throw in JFK to muddy the issue.
you replied:

Sure JFK did some escalation in his 1000 days, but LBJ escalated things to the nth degree hoping to end things sooner and from GOP goading to escalate. LBJ did the major killing/bombimg in NAM, JFK's body counts were low by comparison. Now we has Dubya (who spent most of his time during NAM in the Air Force in a 'Blow & Booze' Stupor) escalating in Iraq all over again!

Dam I really don't know what WTF I'm doing,
I just do what Uncle DICK tells me to do!!!
