Jail for these guys is torture, it's not club fed like everybody thinks, he'll have a roommate, have to watch him shit, it's not pleasant, basically rot until he dies.

As much as Madoff is a heartless jerk and should do hard time slowly, how much responsibility should be put on others, managers and investors alike. If anyone told me he could guarantee 15-19% regardless of market trends, bells would go off really quick. As far as the managers go, Madoff told them they could not list him on the prospectus and not mention his name to anyone. RING!!!! The managers just turned a blind eyes and took their 1%. GREED, GREED, GREED!!!

Now the SEC is another matter; stupid, frightened stiff or country road crooked. I can't say, but I hope we find out.

Hope they find all these Wall St Bankster thieves. Can't believe Madoff did it all by himself for all those years without anyone helping him.

Apparently, Stamford ripped off the Mexican drug cartel. Maybe, we should send him to Mexico for a little vacation.

From the investors point of view, Madof had been around for a couple decades, so people must have thought he was legit.

Our society always likes to blame the victim, allot of these people were regular joes who worked all their lives and knew nothing about investing or that they should spread their money around, it's easy for savy investors to say they should have spread it around.

Most of the regular Joe's who ended up being ruined by Madoff didn't have a clue what he was doing or even he was involved. It's the middle man who funneled money into a funds of funds, who background should have had those bells go off. They may have but no one listened, except one or two whistleblowers whom the SEC turned a deaf ear and ignored them. People even committed suicide because of his game.

By the way Mrs. Madoff has been told to move, She can't live in her $7 million home any more. Bye!!

Why can't the sec be sued and be responsible for their errors?

It's almost impossible to sue the a government agency. They have more money and time than you do.

Isn't a government agency and their employees protected by the law of estopel (check spelling and law)? Is there a lawyer in the house? Are governments immune from lawsuits except when they acted with malicious and deliberate intent to harm you?
