Apparently a hip hop concert ended around the same time as the game, so I am guessing that a lot of punks were running wild.

Still though, Montreal has a history of this kind of thing. Maybe the rioters didn't come out of the Bell Centre but they are still Montrealers.

Calder Memorial Trophy - Rookie of the Year

Carey Price did not receive a nomination for this year's Calder Memorial Trophy.

Nicklas Backstrom of the Washington Capitals and Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks were announced as the NHL's top rookie candidates today.

But that's okay. Although Price won't be getting the Calder Trophy this year, there is another trophy that's he is working on getting this year with the rest of nos Canadiens … the Stanley Cup.

Great game. Not the habs best and they can steal a win still. That is what makes a cup winner. Grapes noted how the crowd wasnt in the game early. I must agree.

Go Habs, at least as far as my pool goes. Otherwise who cares. Pittsburgh and Detroit are also good in my books.

The Quest for Cup #25 - Status of 2008 Playoff Games Won: 5 Down, 11 More To Go

Welcome to Montréal, Daniel Brière.
This is the year! The Penguins hold a small chance but this is the Habs year. They are winning magicly as cup winners do.

i don't know how the Penguins will get past the Rangers... JMHO... but, years as a Pens fan, I am, of course, humbled...

Flyers are in Montreal for game 1 tonight on CBC televison
The games are better on RDS. It's the same video feed (RDS is usually 3 seconds ahead of CBC) and you don't have to listen to Bob Cole and Don Cherry.

WOW did you guys watch the same game I did?

FLYERS blew a two goal lead...(did it twice in the Washington series) the HABS hit the post three times...their defensman scored a goal for us, and we had a difficult time putting pucks on net... both teams got bounces that went their way and both teams got bounces that didn't go their way...

HABS fans were taken out of the game by two FLYER goals. They were even booing their team and DANNY BRIERE wasn't on the ice when those boos were raining down.

The impressive thing for me was third game in forth night and the FLYERS took it to the HABS for most of the game. The Flyers were able to skate with them at both ends of the ice...if I was a HABS fan I'd be concerned because a rested FLYERS team will bring a much more physical game on Saturday.

The Flyers were 29 seconds from steeling game one...the HABS escaped with a win...and the FLYERS have proven that they can bounce back from disappointment.

The Habs had a bit of a letdown and still won......the more I watch Habs games the more I realize Montreal is the mecca of hockey, the absolute centre of the hockey universe, probably the best atmospere for any sporting league anywhere........Toronto doesn't even come close.........they play well on the road and those game 7's at home are almost a guarenteed win, I said almost.

where,s bobby clarke to win a faceoff for you, with the game on the line.
He's retired where he should be...but I wish Carter has Clarke's wooden stick instead of one of those damn composite sticks they use now...:(

It's difficult to win a face off with a broken stick...and Koivu owned the face margin last night.
