NDP MPP from Brampton calls out Ford and his cronies

"Doug Ford let Sam Oosterhoff off the hook when he held a big family shindig. Ford let himself off the hook for gathering with family when he told the rest of us we can’t. These guys just think the rules don’t apply to them,” she said in a statement.

Finance Minister Rod Phillips left the country for a personal trip earlier this month and remains abroad, even as health officials plead with Ontarians to only venture outside of their homes for essential purposes.

Yah. THAT Rod Phillips. The #1 Asshole who has been INSISTING that "travel is bad" "people can bring covid into the province" "everyone stay home" this is THE guy who has been pushing so hard for lockdowns. Now he is off on vacation. lol

WE are in LOCKDOWN!! Suck it up buttercup! It's going to go into FEB. because dumbasses do not obey the stay home and do not socialize orders and I thank you for the next few very relaxing months.

Phillips is an idiot.
He must have thought he could do this without anybody finding out, perhaps by showing pics and vids that make it look like he is here.

His response is ludicrous.
He says he would have cancelled had he known about the province-wide lockdown.

Finance Minister Rod Philipps is apologizing Tuesday evening after he left the country for a personal trip earlier this month even as health officials plead with Ontarians to only venture outside of their homes for essential purposes.
“I deeply regret travelling over the holidays. It was a mistake and I apologize,” Phillips said in a statement.

This is one of the MAIN proponents of the lockdowns

He made vacation plans months ago, and then goes on vacation knowing full well he is advocating for a lockdown he plans to defy

Phillips has also been active on social media in recent weeks. On Dec. 24 he took to Twitter to thank healthcare workers, writing “as we all make sacrifices this Christmas, remember that some of our fellow citizens won't even be home for Christmas dinner over Zoom.”

There is debate as to whether the 13th is true amongst the media sources

They had to pick a date after 11th (since he was in person that date)

Either way its fucking hilarious those two pushed so hard for total Toronto lockdown (in NOVEMBER for Toronto + Peel) and once his work is done he hops on an airplane and goes off on vacation?


It seems pretty obvious he was hoping noone caught him as (when he returned to ON) he would need to violate quarantine to go back to work

Unless he wanted an extra 2 weeks paid governmental vacation

This looks like a concerted effort to deceive.
He needs too resign immediately.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he found out his finance minister was travelling abroad roughly two week ago, and should have pushed then for his immediate return.
Ford says Rod Phillips “never told anyone” he was going to St. Barts on Dec. 13, but the premier learned of the trip shortly after it began.
“I did call him shortly after he arrived and I talked to him and asked where he was. He said he was away,” the premier said Wednesday.
“My mistake. I take full responsibility. At that time, I should have said, ‘get your backside back to Ontario,’ and I didn’t do that.”
Ford said he will have a serious conversation with Phillips on Thursday upon the minister’s return.

Phillips made a series of fake videos before he left that were released one by one while he was away to make it seem like he was still in the province working. He was so moronic that he wore exactly the same clothes for each shoot. I guess they were all made the same day. The press spotted it and caught him out and outed his little scam.

Phillips tweeted that he was in ON working when he was on vacation.

If Ford doesn't fire P's ass, it's a fucking disgrace.

I get the hypocrisy and, yes, Doug should fire him, but Pearson is open and I know of at least one private entity that is making a mint flying snowbirds across the border to mate them with their rvs and cars. AND couple of executives who hired jets to fly down to the Islands. It is just being done very quietly to prevent upsetting the little people.

Im a bachelor and a professional with a solid career. Lucky for me I work for one of the worlds largest and most influential technology companies in the world. Our CEO banned all travel way back in feb 2020. I know for a fact if I were to travel in a travel ban - I would dismissed from my position.

I expect Ford to have a conversation with Mr Phillips that has two options.

1. You can tenure you're resignation.

2. I can let you go.
