what intervention caused the attack on American ships in the Mediterranean in the 1780s?

what intervention caused the Islamic invasions on North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula?
Wow, you really had to stretch far to find contrary examples, eh?
Thanks for proving my point.

The only reason that Islamic terrorists would want to come to Canada is because we are bombing them.
Have they bombed Switzerland?

People get pissed when you bomb their countries, its pretty basic.
Bear in mind this guy supports Islamic terrorists and previously praised Hamas calling them new Nelson Mandelas.

ISIS is largely run by ex-Saddam generals.
And therefor,...NOT a country.

But simply Islamic based terrorists,...which no country in the world accepts as their own,...but I guess you would,...your kind of culture.

Give Mulcair credit for saying something sensible. He also said it by not bashing Harper.

That's why i don't like Harper. Outside of Canada's borders, the guy is a total idiot.

You know the expression, a half ass job? His current bombing campaign, does not even qualify as that. A quarter ass job? A eighth ass job? A sixteenth ass job? A 32nd ass job? A 64th ass job?

There are approximately 6 fighters/bombers, I guess they have close in air support, and a handful of other planes. Did Canada deploy 10 planes in total?

Boots on the ground. Infantry. Combat. Amour. Artillery. Search and destroy. But he don't have the stomach for that.

The conducting of war, is very serious business. Clearly, Canada's role in bombing is mainly to feel good about ourselves. What kind of reason is that?

That's Harper. He trash talks, but won't drop the gloves for real.

Trash talk in front of the cameras, then relax in his office with some patte and caviar.

And maybe some Molson.

Bombs away!

I am sure that once Mulcair is PM he will be able to take a trip to Mosul and work everything out with the ISIS "Caliph" over tea and crumpets.

Agree.

This problem fuji my man ... this is a serious problem.

But no one in this country, has even a clue about what to do. Six fighters, like WTF?

Who knows. Maybe the Russians will help Harper out with the bombing.

Lots of Russian materiel arriving in Syria lately.

:)

Never forgetting that ISIS is one of the factions trying to oust Bashir Assad, and that we may well find Russian planes bombing them along with us as we prolong the fighting that produced the refugee crisis we're all whining about these days. Just like the US once supported Saddam, sending Donald Rumsfeld to deliver weaponry he used against his own people.

Maybe for once we should try doing the right thing first instead of waiting until something actually hurts and pisses us off and then doing what we do so clumsily we only make it all worse.

Like the Iraquis are so grateful to the USA for their freedom.

Don't forget that the IS is run by ex-Saddam generals, and came about through the total disaster the US made of Iraq.
I haven't. Now we're helping the US make a similar disaster out of Syria, and Saudi Arabia — our go-to ally for freedom and democracy — seems next on the ISIS list.

Ooops! Did I forget the shining successes we had in Egypt and Libya? And I haven't really kept up with what's happening in the Paris of the Middle East; is Hezbollah still the best-organized group in a state that can't even keep the garbage picked up?

The one clear, inescapable takeaway from all of the above: What we're doing now is a fuck-up. Anything else will likely be better; certainly could hardly be worse.

Blaming the above mess on the US is ludicrous. The cause of the disaster is the cohort of evil dictatorships that populate that part of the world. They always devolve into fuckups.

I think the locals need to own up to the consequences of their having shitty government.

The US loved Saddam, got mad at him and then invaded and destroyed Iraq.

More bombing of countries in the middle east is the fuckup.
It didn't help Afghanistan, fucked up Iraq and spawned IS.
You can't bomb a country into democracy.

The locals can't handle democracy. Look what happens every time they change government, Iran, Iraq, Egypt (where they voted in the terrorist Morsi), etc.

I don't believe that at all. Arabs deserve better government and if they had it the region wouldn't be so fucked up.

Did Harper not go to Ukraine and warn the Russians not to interfere with Ukraine and get the hell out of Ukraine. Did you not see Putin hiding inside his closet and shaking all over. That is why there is peace in that region after the Russians turned over their arms to Harper. So this has resulted in Harper leading in the polls at I believe 36% .:D
