Surprised there's not already a thread on this:
http://www.torontosun.com/2017/05/29/province-to-raise-minimum-wage-update-labour-laws-tuesday-wynne
Main points seem to be:
•$15/hour minimum wage by 2019
•3 weeks paid vacation for employees of 5 years or more
•10 mandated emergency leave days, two of them paid
•Equal pay for part time workers as full time workers [not sure what this means]
•3 hours pay for shift work cancelled within 48 hours of shift
As 30% of Ontario employees make less than $15/hour, this is a major change even before the other items. Add in those items and you have a radical overhaul!
Thoughts?
