OK so this post is late .... it is Week Nine.

Just as I am starting to think maybe they got something this season the Cowboys lose a 'gimmie'.
The Eagles lost also so it would have given Dallas some breathing room if only temporary.
The Cowboys would still get one of the NFC byes if the playoffs began today so things are not all bad, but there is the second half of the season for Romo to fuck things up.
Romo; eighth season as Cowboys QB. Seven previous seasons, only twice made playoffs, one win, two blow out losses.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos just keep rolling along.
Carolina at 3-4-1 lead the NFC South.
Arizona are now alone atop the NFC at 6-1.

the skins could lose 15 in a row, but it all goes away when they beat dallas. cowboys I think, will be fine. turnovers will kill you every time. cowboys fumble it deep in skins territory twice, no pts. I think tony has been ok this year. we,ll see I guess.

Those 3rd down blitzes Haslett was dialing up were also key as many of them got home. The Cowboys one-on-one pass-protection was OUTSTANDING otherwise. The run-blocking was equally good. But Haslett's blitzes on 3rd down got home several times to kill Cowboys drives and those were crucial too. As far as Murray goes I like him as he has power & patience as a runner, he is precise in his routes in the passing-game and he can pickup a blitz. He does a solid job finishing runs as well - he makes a lot of yards after contact. He can wear a defense out.

Absolutely love that Dallas offensive line though. It used to be a weakness for them but they have made some solid draft picks in recent years to solidify that offensive line. Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zach Martin are VERY good players. This line is probably the best they have had upfront since the Great Wall of Dallas w/ Mark Tuinei, Erik Williams, Stepnoski etc. This Cowboys offensive line is a joy to watch.

I didn't believe it but I guess it's true?

One thing to remember with the Jets is their record notwithstanding they have a very talented defensive front 7 with the "Sons of Anarchy" as well as David Harris & Demario Davis.

Yes, but there is laying an egg then there is what KC did.
5-5 or something, and not really in playoff picture, you lose to a 0-10 rival not when a win would have keep you on pace for a division share of first.
KC got a gift when Manning and company tripped up two weeks in a row.

BUT ! .... I understand .... that is why they play the game !

First I have to point out last Sunday's game ..... 'Boys in NY.

What a catch by Beckman(#13) of the Giants ! One handed ... through the whole process of the catch.
One of the best catches I have ever seen. For a TD even, and I could not be mad at the guy(for scoring a TD against Dallas).
Snags it with two, maybe three fingers at contact and never even bobbles the ball. He brings it in, uses his other hand/arm to help break fall, hits ground and through the whole process of the catch only used the one hand. Wow, fucking wow !

The Cowboys would go onto win the game but that is one of the best catches I have ever seen !





Now US Thanksgiving Day football.

I think Detroit will beat the Bears, hope so anyway. Do not like the Bears at all.

Defending Champs seem to be playing like defending Champs finally.
I think they will eke out a win over the Niners.


Game of the day, in my opinion.

I should be home in time for kickoff.

Today was supposed to have been the showdown between Andrew Luck and RG3 to determine the best young QB in the NFL. Unfortunately RG3 has had his wings clipped to the point where his future remains uncertain at best.

In broader terms, RG3, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, who all took the league by storm, have all regressed significantly this year. Throw in benched EJ Manuel and the woeful Geno Smith and see how the supposed new wave of QB has fizzled like stale beer. The days of picking QBs high in the draft seem to be over.

Personally I think its more of a case of when these QB came into the league the O/C dummied down the offensive scheme for them...surrounded them with good protection and let them perfect the position to their specific strengths
Maximize their strengths..minimize their weaknesses
Now the D/C have seen them for 2 or 3 years now and all have the Tale of the tape...so to speak
I dont think they a regressing as much as the rest of the leagues defenses are adjusting...and progressing

Denver has all but locked up a bye.


Lions shut out Vikings in second have, now sit in two seed.


Dallas led 21-0, all was good. Then 24 unanswered from Philly. Oh-oh here we go.
But the Cowboys pull it out late in the third. Murray takes it in for his second TD of the game. Held to under 100yds but came up big when the 'Boys needed him.
Dez catches three touches.

Eagles are not going to go sit in the corner and pout, the Cowboys need to show up these final two weeks.
