Some breathing room for the Cowboys.

Washington wins ! ... Eagles on life support.
Two missed Philly FG attempts, then Sanchez with the low, behind the receiver throw, intercepted with less then two minutes remaining set up the GWFG.
Also two 'roughing the passer' against Philly and deservedly so. Do not hit/slap/contact the head.
Since their Thanksgiving Day win at Dallas the Eagles are 0-3.

Only worry about today's Cowboy game is they are at home.
The Cowboys have been road warriors this season, 7-0 so far. At home they are 3-4.
I think the 'Boys lock up the NFC East today in front of the home fans.
Next week in Washington could come in handy if Dallas has a shot at a bye.

San Diego defeats San Fran in comeback thriller.

Some games to keep an eye on.

Colts at Cowboys . Colts have won division, still have shot at bye.
Ravens at Texans . Chargers own tie breaker over Ravens.
KC at Steelers . For Pitt, win and their in.
Falcons at Saints . Battle for first in NFC South. Atlanta beat NO in week one.
Seahawks at Cardinals . Seahawks need to lock up a WC, still have decent shot at a bye. Cards want to lock up the one seed.

Broncos at Bengals . Broncos can lock up bye. Cincy win to lock PO spot.

NFC North will come down to Lions/Packers Sunday. Lions will lose badly to GB, and then lose their 1st playoff game, and I'm a Lions fan!

Thumper, looks like the Niners made it official. Harbaugh is the first coach to go.

I think the following are also likely gone;
Smith, Atlanta.
Ryan, Jets.
Whisenhunt, Tennessee.
Fisher, ST. Louis
McCoy, San Diego

One more season;
Trestman, Chicago
Smith, Tampa

NFL insiders were saying Trestman will be gone too which I think is wrong
get rid of cutler
did I miss something what the fuck was the issue with Harbaugh in SF?
did he want more control?
More money?
Bigger office?
Better parking spot?

Yesterday
Carolina 27 Arizona 16
Baltimore 30 Pittsburgh 17

Not too surprised by either 'upset' as the Cards were not playing well toward the end of the season.
I expected a bit more from the Steelers offence, the defence needs to improve.

Today
Cincinnati at Indianapolis
Detroit at Dallas

this season has to be the most fucked up season when it comes to weird officiating calls/Non calls
seems atleast 1 call per week is being scrutinized by the head officiating team at NFL head quarters

As a Cowboys fan, I thought the pass interference call wasn`t good...but still could not believe they picked up the flag......hate to be that official when they get call from league office. I was struck by the fact that they break up referee crews in play offs. It seems these guys work as a team all year and know how each other works.....should stay as team in playoffs

the theory of having the best of the best on the officiating crew has been an Epic Fail...IMO
These guys know eachother inside and out for 16 games and cus its the playoffs they break them up??
Just like the teams themselves the officiating crew is a team....
NFL has to re-think this

In the Cowboys - Detroit game, ref announced pass interference that would have given Detroit a first down around Dallas 30. Then the flag was pulled without any explanation. Never seen a flag pulled after penalty announced when the call couldn't be challenged. Sucked BT.

I do not recall a flag being 'picked up' after the penalty is announced either, but I do see the reason.
Hitchens(Cowboys) was in the face of the receiver but not enough for flag. His hands go up which should be called but upon review I think the correct call was made. Detroit bench/coach should have got a full explanation though. In the replay you can see Hitchens hands go up after the balls hits the back of his helmet I believe in response to the minimal contact with the Lions receiver.
Very unusual in that the flag was thrown, penalty announced, THEN flag picked up. Further no explanation.

I am also not a fan of an 'all-star officiating crew'.
Maybe parts of crews would be better at least. For instance all the down field judges(field, back, side) come as a team.

Actually, it doesnt matter how minimal the contact was. If a defender has not got his head turned and thus not playing the ball and the receiver makes an effort through the defender to catch the ball then that is almost always PI. It is pretty much automatic. So I think it was a bad non-call.

That being said I think it is too easy to say one call (or in this case non-call) determined the outcome of the game. There were plenty of other plays that Detroit could point to in the game and say they could have done a better job on their own part to help win the ball game. Detroit had a 3rd and short in the redzone in the 3rd Q and STafford threw a pass to Golden Tate who had a step on Scandrick. With all the room in the middle of the field on that playe Tate if he had broken that thing off with an angle on the route then he would have given Stafford a nice place to throw the football. Maybe DET gets 7 there instead of having to settle for 3. How about the Lions defense with some sloppy tackling in that 2nd half as well. Levy had a chance to tackle Bryant and force a punt on a 3rd down play. Instead it goes for a big play and the drive culminated in a Dallas TD. On a subsequent DAL drive Seisay missed a tackle on Beasley for a big play. There were some key costly penalties on the Detroit defense as well - the Whitehead penalty for the hit on a defenseless receiver , the hold on Carey & the hold on Levy on the GW drive. ANd some special-teams miscues as well - Ross' decision to run the ball out the back of the endzone cost Detroit 15 yards of field position and then at the tail end of that drive the shanked punt by Martin. EASY to blame the officials. But one call does not a ball game make.

Yes, great point. There is a synergy and chemistry that a crew develops and that occurs after they have many games together under their belt (not unlike a secondary or an offensive line where communication is vital to success). All-Star crews sound nice in theory but they lack that synergy and chemistry because they haven't worked together.
