GEEEZZZ...i was out my step daughter and her mom this evening tricker treating and was just shaking my head at the amount of teenagers going door to door....most with not even a mask on....carrying pillow cases and pratically pushing the little kids out of the way in their quest for candy.Curious for a little input...what age is a good one for the kids to be stopping trick or treating?
I'm not a miser but when we got back to the house some 20 something showed up here under a mask with two bags"for the kids".....RRRRIIGGHHTTTT.....i caved because there was a slim chance that he could had two disabled children..BUT..in the back of my mind I was thinking LLLOOSSEERRR!!!! any thoughts?

I went all out this year for the kids.

I dressed up and sat in the garden while the g/f gave out the candy.as kids approached I jumped up out of the garden and scared the crap out of most,I felt like a kid again. LOL

about the older kids, I spent the day carving pumpkins,as these kids approached the one kid kicked the pumpkin breaking the face in not knowing i was sitting right there in the garden,I slowly got up and approached them from behind and scared the shit out of them and then told him "since you kicked and broke my pumpkin you can take a hike,you aint gettin no candy ". I know hes a kid and all but screw him the little ungrateful bastard!

some kids today :rolleyes:

It's just like that one Curb Your Enthusiasm episode if anyone has seen it...Larry freaks out saying they cant just exploit the holidays (occassions, whatever) and I absolutely agreed with him and the above posters!

Well in all honesty I grew up in the country and all the people knew each other there. We teens all did go trick or treating, but we all did wear costumes. Once we all graduated out of high school though we never went trick or treating anymore. I do agree the kids here are more pushy shoveey than I am used to and the lack of costumes would not be permitted where I grew up either. I really have no idea where you should draw the line as in many discussions 14 and 16 years old is really not grown up. But they are old enough to know that trick or treating should be in costumes.

I stopped after grade 6. So around 10 yrs old.

Several years later though when in my late 20's I went out with a LF of mine who asked me to keep her company with her little daughter. It was a blast! I felt like a kid again.

</never really did grow up>

About 10 years ago, a kid (maybe 16 or more) came to the door dressed in what I suspect was his regular clothes. I gave him the usual handful of candy. He said, rather menacingly (and definitely in a changed voice): 'I want way more than that'. I gave him a bunch more, and I haven't handed out candy since.

I was at my brothers giving out candy while he took my 6 year old niece out. They came back after an hour or so. We ran out of candy after about 2 hours. My niece was sorting her candy and watching TV. We had all the lights out, pumpkins no longer glowing and still people would knock. My niece answers the door once when i was in the kitchen. I hear an older kid say Trick or treat. She sweetly says "sorry we are out of candy" the old kid i could hear say "Did you go trick or treating" to her. She says "yes". He says "well can i have some of your candy?" I started walking to the door to give em a kick in the ass and they see me and yell..."Shit, the Dad's coming" and take off. Little fuckers! grow up!

i had two kids show up yesterday at my house and their friends were all standing at the curb smoking flicking the butts in my plants out front. when i told them to go away they threw an egg at me. then i told them they won and come and get some candy and i opened up on them with a hose. little fuckers. kid threatened to get his dad. i told him to. never saw them again for the rest of the night.

hope they got a cold at the very least.

This would make for a great hidden camera gag. Have a pot-bellied, middle aged man smoking a cigarette show up at someone's door on Halloween. He would maybe be dressed in jeans and a tanktop and hold out a huge garbage bag and ask for candy. When they give him some, he would say something like "Is that all you can spare? I need some more for my wife. " Then at the end he would threaten them if they refused to fill up the bag with other goods.

What do you think?

Hey tzahal, I think sweetdaddyc meant that using a 12-gauge shotgun might have been more "adult".

At least that's how I see it...
